No pic comprison, but I swapped out my rigids for OR wide angle fogs before trading truck in. Wow! I could actually see into a corner I was turning into. The OR fogs are awesome for that use.

Big difference between the Rigid 45 degree side projection vs the OR 75 degree side projection.

My 2015 Legacy comes with 19W H16 fogs like SR5 Tacoma, and apparently replacing with 55W H11 melts the Legacy fog housings. Any suggestions? The easy fix seems to be Nokya or PIAA halogen H16 bulbs, but doesn’t seem like it makes any light output improvement, just allows yellower color.

Aside from replacing the housing with an SAE LED fog housing, if any exist for that make and model, you could look at putting in a 35w H8. It is a more incremental bump, output would go up from 500 lumens to over 800, so it would give a 60%+ improvement. Not double but certainly better. I’ve personally not done H16 to H8 upgrade so there may be minor trimming of the bulbs tabs to get it to plug into the connector and or housing.

I linked the required mods to mount the Rigids in the OEM fog locations for all the Tacomas in the original post, so it should be pretty straight forward, but here it is again:

Rigid Rage of Fabrication adapters The OEM TRD fogs have a significantly wider throw pattern, but being significantly wider pattern may not project as far as the more forward focused fogs. The OEM 3200k color temp is pretty ideal for best illumination without being overly white/blue if not looking for yellow/amber.

I agree with both of you that the Rigids are way too blue. If going with 'white' LED, I much prefer the KC G4 color output which was the best (lowest) measured color temperature, while also having a wider pattern.

The fog light assemblies are virtually the same but the front bumper facade is not, and the pod mounts have to contour into the face of the bumper and utilize it to anchor the mount.

Which brighter bulbs work in the 3rd gen TRD offroad fog lights?

Any idea when the Amber Rigids will be on market? Also do you know what the angle of the beam will be? Was set on the KC amber lights(on sale right now) but don't know if I should wait for the Rigids? In your opinion what is the best amber Fog on the market?

Rigid says the product will launch in December, unsure if that is early or late in the month. Side projection angle is the same as the white SAE pods at 45 degrees, KC has a wider projection angle for more area coverage.

Rigids are more of a selective yellow than actual amber, whereas KC is true amber. You can see the in depth comparison in post #367 here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...fog-light-review.554813/page-19#post-19144873

The Rigids are brighter with a narrower pattern and more yellow color compared to the KCs that are not as bright with a wider pattern and true amber light. I view the Rigids as being a broader more multi-purpose light whereas the KCs should do better in the worst fog conditions.

Great, I need them to serve as fogs as I have other lights in grill and roof rack for truly dark conditions. Sounds like the KCs are the way to go then.
