This is the diagram I based my purchase off of. I don’t know how accurate it is to the pattern the WC have, but that’s the area I was wanting to hit

Personally, I struggle with a "wide cornering" beam actually being that wide without actually mounting the light on an angle. In fact you might have to mount them as a ditch light to get that spread and angle. Let's see what our resident lighting expert @crashnburn80 has to offer.

Good point. I believe the website said mount them at 10 or 12 degrees. I’ll see if I can find that.

I think you'll find that an SS3 Pro or Max mounted in the fog light position (straight ahead) and maybe a flood pattern mounted as a ditch light would cover all of that area. Of course you could only run the fogs when driving on the street. The ditch / floods would be off road only.

Don't order them this week! May as well wait till next now! We'll have them on sale. Don't have F150 listings live yet, but we can definitely get them for you. @toledoupsguy knows all about F150 gear from us

Having had both in hand... The SS3 pro is going to be the better (and maybe only) SAE fog between the two. Low. Wide. The HXB version of the 4Banger didn't get SAE designation, and while the marketing would indicate that the NCS version is SAE compliant I haven't seen any paperwork yet to fully support it.

A couple pages back I posted up some quick output comparison shots. Not having tried the lower output variant I can still confidently say that the SS3 in a fog pattern is a better fog light. This was the maxes, and the Pro is wider yet.

Is there a place for the 4Banger? Absolutely. Is it winning the SAE fog market? I'm not seeing it.

I know I wasn't called upon, but I'd like to take a swing at @Dayman Karate 's predicament with my personal experience. I'll give you a little bit of context. On my Tacoma I had a set of FX-R retrofitted headlights and BD Squadron Pros in a wide cornering pattern mounted in the fog light pockets. They were great - 90% of the time. Here's that 10%:
    1. In blizzardy conditions (which we like to have here in MT) there was just so much wayward light that I would have to turn them off. They were very powerful, but would reflect back at me enough to where they were rendered useless. I would resort to strictly the clean cutoff lines of the headlights to navigate.
    2. They are absolutely unusable in traffic scenarios. Based upon the fact that they send light everywhere they are simply not a light that can be run appropriately into oncoming traffic. You truly will eliminate someone's ability to see at all in a 2-lane situation.
That said, when I was out just mobbing around in the woods I really liked them because the wide cornering would extend light out in front of the vehicle further than a flood pattern for example, and I could comfortably drive 30ish with just them if I wanted.

It kind of comes down to your use case and your environment. If you are honestly driving on paved roads 90%+ of the time or live in an environment that rain, snow, dust, fog, etc are a somewhat regular occurrence you will absolutely thank us later for guiding you into picking up a set of proper fog lights. They will greatly improve your visibility and confidence especially when the conditions break down.

If you are off the beaten path, won't be trying to use them in traffic, just NEED LIGHT and don't care how you get it then I would be happy to recommend the squadrons. To a lot of folks that's exactly I do.

Thanks man, yeah these are strictly for the backroads and woods here. Blast the night away with impunity type thinking. Turn them off if someone approaches and not using on the Highway. I got the WC in sports and combo/driving in the pros. I’ll keep the SS3s in mind for my front bumper build since I’ll be ditching the ARB fogs. Would be nice to have someone to run with the headlights and not turn off in traffic. I’m guessing the factory fog light wiring is sufficient for the SS3s. I doubt they draw as much as the current fogs, but I’ll check.

You will not have a problem. I currently run the Max model with the factory wiring.

Did someone say F150? Welcome, great group here that are very friendly to us outsiders. Much less BS than most other forums. You aren't the guy on the f150 forum I sent the link here to are you?

I have the max yellow fog f150 kit, also max driving but they aren't mounted yet. Both from Mr memario1214 who treats people great.
    20210818_050117.jpg

Thinking about putting the max driving here and dud a little mock up to check out the glare on hood. Not bad at all. There is a KDF mount to put 2 pods in the bumper but aiming them is supposed to be a royal PITA plus with adaptive CC you have to realign the radar sensor after removing the bumper.

I just installed my squadron pros with the driving/combo lens and holy shit I’m blown away. You could barely tell when the headlights were on with the arb fogs. The factory brights added practically nothing. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for in a set of lights. I’m not sure how the wide cornering lights are going to add much to this set up, but I’m anxious to get them installed.

No, I think that was someone else. I stumbled across this via Google search but I’m sure glad I did. Your truck is looking good.

Based on time looking at those Raptor forums, I think you'll find the info here far more accurate, without overbearing biased vendors and a much more helpful grass-roots community of lighting enthusiasts willing to help.

I have the wide cornering BD on my ditch brackets and they are angled outwards at least 10-12* to get that wide of pattern I still don't think it's that wide. Now after owning and having Rigid, BD, and DD I am looking to replace those BD with a DD product. I've been far more impressed with the DD products than BD.

For woods riding all you need are some decent rock lights, good headlights and fogs, and some up on the ditch light area, maybe a set of the SAE driving lights. But that has been absolutely plenty for me any more and it's garbage IMO. Only thing I really want is to hook up some "chase" lights and some better reverse lights.

I run my SS3 pro fogs with the factory harness and a CaliRaised adapter plug they work just fine.

Interesting. If I don’t like them as WC I’m glad I have the option to swap the lens for another pattern. The pros driving combo blew me away last night. Maybe the DD are superior, but I’m totally stoked on what I saw from the BD last night.
