You can change the lenses out on the Diode Dynamic lights as well, but their pods are not nearly as powerful as the XL80, though the Diode Dynamics TIR optics are more efficient. The 'driving' combo lens on the XL80 isn't really a driving light, you have short range spread paired with long range spot, whereas true driving like Diode Dynamics is a wider long range pattern. Personally I'd prefer driving over spot for most use cases, but if I was going for ultimate spot, I would use KC's Carbon pods. The XL80s spot distance is a little over 400m, for less than $100 more, the KC Carbon spot is 1,281m, or roughly 3x the distance projection. But you are locked into a spot configuration and they are larger:

I just use my D2 as auxiliary high beams on back roads tight now. Kinda hoping a set of Xl80s or Swuadron pros in the combo would be a best of both worlds. Hence me thinking to get the Xl80/Squadron pros in combo, but if I get a set of Squadron pros in wide cornering for the westin grill guard I'll swap the a pillar lens to spot. I didnt know you could swap the lenses on the Diode Dynamics, I like the TIR optics and they look pretty efficient. Might try them for sae fogs if they make a kit for my truck, like the BD but the cut off is crazy. Waiting for the kit to upgrade my lights. I'll look into the KC lights, had a old set of day lighters on a Miata lol, worked awesome at night on backroads.

Easiest way to aim aftermarket lights is to replace them one at a time. Aim the first replaced light to match the existing OEM that theoretically is still installed on the other side. Then repeat. Done.

If you can get a night shot from the drivers seat, I’d like to see the beam pattern on the road.

    Proper aiming procedure covered here:
    https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html

This below is the easiest way and what I suggest, though it doesn't help if the stock ones are already removed from the truck.

Seeing the reflection on the bumper pocket leaves me contemplating wrapping that area matte black

The foglights made my new Philips XV2 headlight bulbs look like chumps

iPhone couldn’t quite pick up just how full the yellow floods. The lights are quite a bit brighter than the Philips bulbs I had.

Can only imagine how much output the driving version lights up.

Can’t wait to see @crashburn80 ‘s review. If desired, I’m free this weekend since you’re just a little south of me.

Do you have HID XV2’s and are they in stock projectors or aftermarket? Just trying to gauge the output vs. the DD fogs. Thanks

Same here. Originally quoted a Jan. ship date, got an email saying they shipped yesterday. Great work @Diode Dynamics, looking forward to getting these installed, hopefully next weekend.

Got the SS3 pro selective yellow yesterday. Installed the drivers side, but is noticably higher than the factory passenger.
The instructions say to "Adjust and aim...using the screws [3rd gens only have one screw] on the side of the bracket."

This doesn't seem like it allows any up or down adjustments (unless I'm not seeing a way).

For shits and giggles, how does that carbon pod setup compare in terms of distance to the BD Laser

Difficult to say since Baja provides no performance specs on most their lights, unlike every other major LED lighting manufacture. You won’t see specs like candela, lux at 10 meters, beam distance or anything useful to gauge actual product performance. All they provide is raw lumen which doesn’t say anything about how the product performs. Note that in the case of their laser lights, it is an extream Hyperspot. By comparison, Rigids spot pattern is 7 degrees, Baja lasers are 1.5 degrees, so the area illuminated will be bright but very small. The KC Carbons are also Spot, but don’t provide horizontal beam angle.

Please loosen the screws on the sides of the bracket where they mount the bracket to the actual lamp. The DD bracket, not the stock one. You can angle the lamp down and tighten the screws in that position, with the SS3 angled as needed. Hope that makes sense!
