Last week my Tacoma and I had our first anniversary... I realized that time flies when you are in a happy relationship with your vehicle. Through a series of unfortunate events I am paying more than average for my truck but that didn't matter.
I stood in front of my truck and I stared at it still amazed at the infinite badass-ness the truck is infused with. I only stopped staring because I didn't want the neighbors thinking I'm crazy or stupid and hence my question to you fellow TWers...
Am I the only one that, even after a year, walks outside to get into the truck and stops for 5 minutes just to stare at it? Am I the only that gets out of the truck and stops right before going in the house, turns around and thinks to himself.... "that's a bad ass truck"?

PS. My truck is basically stock except for wheels and tires. I bet if I had a truck like some of yours, I'd be staring for more than 5 min...

I think that's actually normal for most Tacoma owners.

I just got a 2014 Baja and I'll go outside and stare at it for a good while. . .Funny what you said about the neighbors though - I have the same thoughts.

I do the same thing, although the more I stare, the more I see mods I want to do to it.

I get a lot of comments on my 1gen-they cannot believe it is 11 years old-Take care of it--they will last a LONG TIME.
Normally keep my trucks for TWENTY YEARS-They hold their value.

Hi OP, I have had mine for 12 years now and I still stare at it all the time.
It is at a point now where the truck is such a part of me that I don't know how I will ever be able to trade it in on a new one. It will break my heart.

Older trucks were definetly tough. More so than new ones I agree. I thinks it's in part because of their simplicity. It's a lot like airplanes. There's 40 year old cessnas out there that run like new... I wonder how all the new avionics are going to hold up after 40 years. Same goes with trucks. I wonder how long it will take for on-star and fords SYNC to go obsolete. Toyota has been good about keeping things simple.

After 2 years I still go outside and stare at my 2012 baja. I have no neighbors that are close enough to see me, so I can stare as long as I want. Although I do it when I'm home alone, wife thinks I'm crazy enough without seeing me stare at my truck for 15 min.

    Some stuff...
We're approaching a year and going strong. Just hit 8K miles, but took her into the backwoods this weekend and got some battle scars (scratches) climbing trails! :)

Nope. I like my truck, but it has the unfortunate luck of replacing a car that I loved.

    I get it, though.

I feel the same way. I love my truck.. and I do sit and stare at it.. mainly dreaming of new things to do to it.. My wife thinks I am nuts.

But it also has to compete with the experience of my GTI I had for a few years.. I miss that car so much. But the loss of it (traded it in for my wife's car) gives me the leverage with her to mod my truck when I want haha

Nothing wrong with staring at your truck. It's nice to have something you like and enjoy that well. That is a damn fine looking truck OP, I would stare at it if I seen out!

I've had mine a little over two years(used 2011) and stare at it more than I did the afternoon I brought it home. I'm lifting it very soon hopefully and once that happens, I might sleep in the bed just to be close to it.

    Not going to lie.

I am always looking at it as I am walking to it or as I get out of it. I also always look for others as I drive around town. My wife & stepdaughter say to me all the time "I know, I know...you love your truck!"
