    Sweet 4 banger man.

Although I do have a question.

Are the hoses for the resi's on the coil overs supposed to be under the uca's? I figure the should be above them just incase you droop too far and rip them off.

That's a good point. At the time of install (obviously) I paid it no mind. I didn't get the time to really romp it as hard as I had wanted, but for what I did there were no issues. Worst case when I get home I can relocate the res. Good looking out bro :-D thank you.

No problem bud, I'd just hate to see all that work go down the drain.

underdog, i'm also debating getting the LCE short shifter, electric fan kit, and the LCE header for my truck as well. Just wondering what your thoughts are on them especially the fan kit cuz theres really only the flexalite one to even get, where as i could get a DT header or the URD short shifter rather than the LCE ones...just weighing my options haha

It's my opinion that you can't go wrong with getting the fan. The fan installed easily, and works great. There is one issue I do have to address, but it's not serious. With the draw from the fan it drops the idle of the engine while at a stand still. I've done some research and I should be able to fix that by using a bigger gauge wire than provided in the kit, but like I said not that serious.

As far as the short shifter, I love it. I believe the reduction with the LCE is 40%, I do not know what URD's drop is. I used to have issues with the truck popping out of gear when trying to get moving in the sand, that went away with the short shifter.

Headers wise I made a firm decision on the LCE's because all the primary tubes are the same length. That does make a difference in valve overlap with you vvt-i system. DT's are nice, and do offer a power increase, but did not offer equal primary tube length last I checked.

I hope my .02 helps you out. I know how risky and nerve racking it can be to buy aftermarket mods because you want to feel you got the best, but the way I score it what makes the mod the best is that you hold it proudly to your truck because it's YOURS :D

very good info man thanks. Since i have the 04 2.7l unfortunately i dont have vvt-i so would the length of the header even matter? also random but on LCE website they sell the DT header with and w/o EGR, don't know if i have EGR or not

Your welcome. The even length of the tubing will still benefit your engine indeed. I'm not sure either if your year 2.7 has it or not. I'd say worst case, crawl under your Taco and check it out :)

Thanks a lot bro, I appreciate it :) I can't wait to get home to keep working on it, I have a lot of idea's to keep modifying it. One of which is a little risky, but may be worth it for some originality points

Have you thought about doing bumpers? I think it looks fine the way it is but some of those custom fabricated bumpers look pretty damn mean if you ask me lol

That's actually what I started looking at right after I last posted. I like the one from bajabumpers.com. I'm emailing them back and forth right now to get everything finalized. My only worry is that with stock size tires how "off" it will look with the bumper and some fender flares????

That is true. Bigger tires would probably be needed with fender flares and the bumpers lol

Update time! On it's way to my house right now are some halo headlights. I know there are a lot of questionable ones out there but I figured if they light stuff up what's the difference? An HID kit is coming along with that. Also! I've ordered a mesh grille. And as I type this I'm having a bumper made by bajabumpers.com. I looked at bumpers for about a month and liked that the best. All that is left is to make it through the rest of this deployment. Glad we are within 90 days :-D Cheers!
