I have a Super White 2001 Tacoma DC SR5 PreRunner TRD V6 2wd that I bought new. I was a student at the time, meaning I was poor, and I was doing a lot of highway driving to school and back. 40 minutes each way 2-4 times a week, so I didn't want to do too much to much to hurt the mpgs. In 2006, I bought Westin nerf bars, and that has been the sole mod I've made. Now, all my driving is in town, so I don't really care about mpg all that much, but I'm still on a budget. I'm also running General Grabber HTS. This has been the first tire I've had that I'd really like to get again. It's not super aggressive, but I don't need it to be. I just need it to handle snow, ice, water and dry pavement, and it's done that amazingly.

I'm planning on getting a 3" Toytec lift for my 30th birthday this year, with 5100s all around, Eibach springs in the front and add-a-leaf in the rear. I also plan to get 1.5" wheel spacers in the next year. I'm thinking I will plasti-dip my chrome nerf bars because they're starting to get weird spots on them, and I'm over the chrome. I think black would look better. IMAG1400.jpg IMAG1395.jpg IMAG1396.jpg IMAG1397.jpg IMAG1398.jpg IMAG1399.jpg IMAG1401.jpg IMAG1402.jpg IMAG1403.jpg IMAG1404.jpg

    Other future mods planned include:
-Plasti-dip chrome grill surround (black or white) , fender flares (black or white) front & rear bumpers, front emblem, maybe other badging, or remove completely
-Aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth and USB
-wire in a couple of extra USB ports
-Plasti-dip stock alloy wheels, until I can get aftermarkets
-turning front blinkers into fog lights that come on with the daytime running lights, and the front parking lights into blinkers
-Slim, low profile toolbox to hold jumper cables, tiedowns, and tow rope/chain, plus whatever else is behind my backseat. May get a X-tire iron as well
-paint the front skid plate. it looks pretty rusty

    Hopeful mods:
-LED headlights, taillights, blinkers and parking lights

Question: Do you think it would look good if I blacked out the chrome grill surround and front bumper? Or would that look weird?

Thanks! How do you like that lift? Does it ride okay? Did you install it yourself?

I love it. I had it on my black truck and it was a little stuff at first cuz it was a 4 cyl. without any armor or anything. It broke and felt better when I put a front bumper on it. I eventually sold them so I could get King coilovers and man did I love those thing however they are $1000 alone lol. But when I got my double cab v6 I went with the eibach and billies again and the extra weight if the v6 made a difference cuz the height it perfect and it ride and handles great. And yes I installed it

That's great news! Thanks for the info. Would the installation be hard for someone that's never messed with suspension before?

Alright, I'll look for those write-ups. I just met with the KC Tacoma guys for the first time, so maybe in a couple months they'll be willing to help me, haha. Thanks again!

Color matched, huh? White instead of black? That could be interesting. Have any pics?

Thanks for the compliment! Glad you like my truck :)

Completed some Plasti-dipping today! Running boards, grill surround and emblem, and front bumper de-chromed. Will work on rear bumper and wheels sometime. IMAG1425.jpg IMAG1424.jpg IMAG1423.jpg PhotoGrid_1438484409101.jpg

Got the fender flares re-blacked and rear bumper blacked. Only remaining chrome is the badging now! IMAG1427.jpg IMAG1426.jpg
