    You are running Duratracs now aren't you? Are you going to stay with an all-terrain tread with the next set?

    Magruder/Lolo will probably be my last big wheeling adventure with my KMs. They took quite a beating at Moab. Tread depth is still reasonable but I have lots of chunking in the outer tread blocks and also a few gouges in the sidewalls. :eek:

    rotate every 5k, balance every 1k or so.
    i got a cut in one sidewall at the august meet last year. its not deep but the sidewalls of these tires is known to be a problem so that tire is one I keep an eye on.
    i do need an alignment. i had one done when i had my suspension work done but not after i had my ball joints replaced. the UCA sits at a different angle now than it did before but I didn't think anything of it. my front tires are really worn on the inside edge AND the leading edge of each lug is worn down more than the back edge. I can get a pic later to show you guys....

    yep I have Duratracs. For traction they are great and they've worn surprisingly well as I have almost 30k on them (the uneven wear is my bad for not getting an alignment, won't blame that on the tires). They are a pain to keep balanced and I'm at hte tire shop about once a month. That plus the amount of noise that these things generate I don't think I will buy them again.

    I'm deciding between BFG KO's or General AT2's . Only one shop can get the Generals in though so its looking like KO's for me.

    you have them too I see. They've gotten pretty good reviews both here and on tirerack. Seems like they handle well in winter (priority #1) and offroad and have a decent tread life.
    Are they quiet? That's my new concern....

    I agree with Mark, the BFG All-terrains are a solid choice, though I've not used them myself. Based on what I have observed, they are a proven tire with excellent construction and have a reputation of a long tread life and quite ride. Though they do look like they are a bit heavier than the duratracs. What size are you getting? 32x11.5-15 265/75-16?

    Price is important too...and getting the Generals would be a savings of about $30 per tire. The only shop that will order them though is one place I really don't want to take my truck to....they messed up my suspension install. I'd rather get the more expensive tire at a more reputable shop
    31x10.5R15 I'd like to go skinnier but can't get them for a 15" wheel

    Just called another local shop....they can get Generals. Plus there is a $50 rebate on them right now :) I could get them for about $800 including mount, balance and lifetime upkeep of rotations etc.
