I have a pretty chill life. I work 130 days year. Have 9 days off after working 5 nights in a row, albeit 12 hours. I put 25k miles on the truck each year - no stimmy for me.

Not trying to retire, but a house would be nice. I got in in January and added a bunch in February - so my position is ok. I'm just along for the ride :bikewhoops:

Had shares of CAT and HON that i nearly called bottom on when pandemic hit. Order out to sell both market price tomorrow. Both great companies to buy still but with market prospective i'm not quite comfortable holding. Until the past few months i was okay with the rate of return on the stock price increase but that has dwindled as they're now back to where they were headed pre covid and inflation increase vs. real value increase. It's important to keep into perspective how much you have to gain to *make* money and align that with your trading strategy and what you seek to gain. If you've made your money already and just want to park capital and turn income from it and can handle some inflation loss those are still great buys. I'm young, can afford high risk, and want gains from what i'm putting in here, so it was a good move immediately after the pandemic drop but not anymore. For example/perspective: High yield savings could net you idk like 2-3% now, market averages 10% year over year, bonds 1-2%; inflation (BIG DEAL in present time) is supposedly around 3-5% yoy lately per govt. likely 10-15+% (++++++right now lol). So in order to really *make* money; as in beat parking it in savings, beat the next guy, beat inflation... you'd have to be beating say 20% safe estimate to really get ahead and make your money grow. That's very ambitious so it may not be for most to seek that goal, but definitely possible. Point being it's important to stay grounded and take things like this into consideration when setting your goals, and evaluate the amount of risk you'd have to take on and can afford to take on accordingly to reach those goals. Given i'm on the high side of those numbers and can afford risk i took the bet on the recovery from the covid dip on those stocks (RTX too, sold earlier) and it paid until now.. where i'm seeing a bit of a plateau and would like to seek positions with more upside potential short term and/or physical assets to minimize inflation loss.
Sorry if this seems a bit humble braggy or condescending in tone - not my intention. Just trying to help the education and perspective round here

hahaha buy more GME? is the new good morning in this thread.

Yesterday I was too impatient for my stimmy that I didn't think I qualified for and spent it yesterday on the dip. Now I got my partial stimmy in and it's honestly going to be hard not to spend it if there's another tasty dip. I bet the hedgies are gonna let it run up then tank it to deter the new stimmy money folks

    Looking forward to it <3

Was gonna hop in on $175 with a few more shares yesterday and missed it. Trying to find the right time to snag a few more shares myself.
