My dad's 1986 was just plain black with none of those fancy graphics. It didn't even come with a rear bumper! It did have those white rims though!

He didn't trade it for the 1992 Dodge, but rather sold it to a friend of a friend who lived in New Jersey.

Yes. Her specialty is going to libraries and schools and having children read books to her to practice their reading skills.

Mine had a chrome bumper (Standard on the LE models) that rusted out after about 6 years. I found a black one on eBay for $100 to replace it and liked it better.

Reviving this thread because I found some more pictures I took!

My dad's 1990 B2600i LE-5 had the chrome bumper, which was almost completely rusted through in the center when he bought it from the original owner in October 1998.

The first of the rebaged Rangers! Great trucks! How on earth did you manage to flip your truck over a bridge, though?

Little known fact...at least for some people. The 2.6 engine in the 2600 was actually a Mitsubishi engine

My aunt and uncle had a 1986 Plymouth Voyager that had a 2.6L Mitsubishi engine, though it had a carburetor. Why was that engine used in so many American-market vehicles, foreign and domestic?

And no, I did not know that the engine in my dad's truck came from the "Triple Diamond."

Not sure if the 2600 engine and the one in the Chrysler products were exactly the same. But Mitsubishi and Chrysler shared lots of parts and models over the years

The 3.0 V6 found in many Chrysler products was also a Mitsubishi mill

From what i remember Chrysler and Mitsubishi had a partnership in the 80’s with Chrysler owning a large portion of the brand (Lee Iacocca deal) It was Chrysler’s way of combating Japanese quality by integrating it into their product

Small concrete bridge, 2 lane road. Dropped passenger wheels off the pavement while avoiding a head on, couldn't get back on pavement. Did a end over onto the bridge, crushing the cab roof into my neck, shoulder, and head, and flopped over into the creek with 2' of water in it. It was Dec 24, 2005. Home from my first college semester.

I think page 8 in my build thread has pics of the carnage. To my knowledge, no pics of the truck when I first got it as a junior in high school

Yep....lots of rebadging throughout the 80's and 90's. The Galant was actually built right along side the Sebring in Illinois.

The non turbo Eclipses and the Neons shared the same engine.

The Dodge Colt and Raider were rebaged Mitsubishis.....to name a few

That I did know. Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler Conquest, Dodge Ram 50/Mitsubish Mighty Max, Mitsubishi Eclipse/Plymouth Laser/Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Expo/Plymouth Colt Vista, etc...

The same uncle who owns the two VW Buses is married to my mom's older sister and they two daughters. When my cousins were kids, their family vehicle in the latter half of the 1990s was a 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan that they bought brand new. This had a Mitsubishi transmission that had to be replaced under recall in about 1995-1996.

I forget whether it was an SE or an LE (I'm pretty sure it was an LE), but my aunt and uncle not only bought that van brand new; they ordered it. It was quite oddly optioned. It had air-conditioning, cruise control, tilt wheel, AM/FM cassette, and power mirrors. I think it had power locks but I don't remember. My uncle had nothing but problems with past vehicles that had power windows, and part of the reason he ordered the van instead of buying it off the lot was because he wanted crank windows. Like I said, the van had power mirrors and possibly power locks, but it had rollup windows like my Tacoma has. He also ordered second row captain's chairs because he didn't want his daughters fighting on long trips, and because he lived in Monterey (still does) and A/C is very rarely needed, he didn't pay the extra money for the rear A/C. I rode in the backseat of that van on hot days and never had any complaints, even when we lived in Northern Virginia and my aunt and uncle drove that van all the way across the country to visit us. The A/C worked fine. My aunt and uncle put 180K miles on that Grand Caravan in the 10 years they owned it, and it was only when the A/C quit working in 2004 that they got rid of it. They bought a brand new 2004 Honda Element as the van's replacement. The Element was sold earlier this year, after 13 years of loyal service, to make room for the two buses. They also have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins and a 2013 Toyota Prius V.
