My dad went to great lengths to embarrass me as a kid, but I think even he knew the MPV would have been cruel and unusual...

They are ugly, but nowhere near as ugly as this... of which I still see from time to time in FL.

Florida is probably one of the only states you'll see those, because most north of the Mason-Dixon Line have rusted to shit!

Ha, that was my first car. Hand me down. I always thought they looked like a space shuttle. It was really an awful vehicle.

Q: How come there aren't many 1988-1998 Mazda MPVs around anymore?
A: Because its close to 30 years old.

I think I had an '87 that looked alot like the first ones you posted in this thread. Black metallic with the same graphics and truck style mirrors. I peeled the graphics and put my own on. lowered it quite a bit and a bumping stereo.

I also had a Mazda B4000, I think it was a '00. Great truck, terrible mileage.

    Power steering?

My dad had a 1986 B2000 that had no options whatsoever; no power steering, no power brakes, and no air-conditioning!

I believe it had power steering and brakes. crank windows and manual locks. First new vehicle I ever bought.

Your first new vehicle was a 1987 model? How old are you again?

I was 18 when I bought that truck. If I remember correctly, the dealer thought I was going to have to get a co-signer when I tried to buy it because I was so young, but I was able to finance it all on my own. I think it was only around $9k back then when trucks were less expensive than passenger cars.

Was that $9K including the interest? In 1985, my mom bought a brand new Ford Escort that cost maybe $5K. Even with her good credit, the 1980s interest rates almost doubled the the final cost!

Way to long ago for me to remember what interest rate I got. $9k for the truck, not including interest. My guess is that it would have been around 7% or so being a first time buyer.

    Here's a fairly obscure 1990s SUV...

I took these pictures myself; This one has been puttering around Doylestown for a few years now!

    Exactly, the Navajo...

Not a bad vehicle, but 1991-1994 Ford Explorers are hard enough to come by. These are REALLY RARE, and the one I photographed is a 5-speed stick!
