So today I assembled the model 32 bender from JD Squared Inc. on the stand I built. The Lincoln MIG 180 is a pretty nice machine. Sliders are now in the works :D (once I finish the baseball buggy my coach wanted me to build - its almost done)

With school and baseball, this semester has been rough and it has put the rock sliders on the back burner, unfortunately. With the semester over, I was able to start fabricating them today (even though it is 8 degrees in the garage ). Here is the progress:

    IMG_0672-1_c1f80faaf27fe943bc01fb5e21abd88a85af8da7.jpg

Left side: Square tubing is tacked up, round DOM tubing cut for between. Need to notch small tubing
Right side: Square cut to fit. Still need to prep surfaces for welding and bevel some edges.
Kickouts will be on the back end.

Stay tuned! More to come tomorrow! Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.

Update on the rock sliders: I have the rails tacked up. Next, I will fab the frame mounts and then completely weld, grind, paint, and mount. Slow process but a little at a time.

They are turning out pretty nice for my second fab job (excluding a tube bender stand). Does anyone have input or ideas? Thanks

Should I add filler plates or no? If yes, should I also put filler plates on the kickout?

Filler plates? I am when i build mine. I like the way it looks and itll also serve as a good step when my lady steps in with them heels on. Hehe. I would put a plate on the kickout too. Thats just me. Looks good

thanks for the input man. I am really torn between the two. I think they look cleaner without the plates but... I like the functionality of them as a place to step and to deflect rocks on the rocker panel.

    Nice built looks bad ass.

I got a 2010 Tacoma and was interested in getting the Spintech muffler. How do I know what size Inlet and outlet to get?

Tested out the recently built sliders with the hi-lift today. I guess I can build things to hold lol
It was a good learning experience because it was my first armor to build for my truck. More ideas in the works!

Finally got around to doing a CMC to solve all my rubbing issues at full lock! Welds came out okay, probably could have taken more time on the prep but I just wanted to get her done.

Thanks! I was seriously considering it but still being in school, I simply don't have the time right now. Maybe in the future
