It was my dads but he decided he couldn't live without his diesel full size truck. We got for a great deal also though. 17K. I don't see why people freak out when a teenager drives a nicer vehicle. My parents trust me so they gave it to me. I just have to pay for everything I do to it. If your gonna come on my build to question my truck, I will kindly ask your ass to leave. This site is about the truck not about who drives it and why they drive it. Who cares what a teenager drives. I could care less if a teenager drives a new mustang or some crap. The most I'll say to him is "nice car brotha" . So if your gonna hassle me on what I'm driving leave it alone. Some kids want cool clothes and other electronics. I don't. I told my parents I don't want expensive clothes and fancy crap. So that's why I got my truck. Plus they gave it to me because they're expecting it to last me the next 10 years. People are so judgmental. This is why people leave this site. Things become to personal when someone makes a comment like yours. You may not have meant in a bad way but it's always hard to tell through a screen. Just forget about the year and enjoy the trucks like this site is about. I don't need people judging me just because of what I drive. I get enough of this crap everyday.

Yeah I might just do that. I was just trying to find something to hold the excitement and impatience back.

Like me for example, I really want a lift on mine but Im saving it all that I earn. Tripled my total amount ive made since I started working in just under 3 years. Plus I commute in my truck so I don't want to destroy my mileage.

I know right? That is a good deal though for 17k. I got my 07 with 98k miles for $15,000 i think. Had to drive it 1000 miles home though

I couldn't have lucked out more on my find. Found my '08 TRD O/R double cab with 36k miles for $22k out the door. At the time I was looking I couldn't afford to drop $28k on a brand new base model double cab. The only draw back to mine was that it came with 20" chrome wheels, needless to say those had to go and I found a local member who sold me his old O/R wheels for $200 with tires. I'm military so at the time I couldn't really afford a $450+ payment a month for a new truck with everything I wanted. Instead I found an older model with everything I wanted for much cheaper.

Wow that is awesome. My neighbor went to buy a used car, she went in the dealer ship and said "I want that car (can't remember what it was) for this price and im not leaving until I get it." She sat in the dealership for 4 hours before they gave the car to her for the price she wanted. It was something like they wanted 8k for it and she walked out the door with it for 3k.

Haha I had a nice 03 Tacoma in HS and everyone hated me for it. Fuck em. If I have the money to do it when I finally have kids they will likely have nice vehicles too. Newer vehicles are more reliable and safer.

I feel that way too. I knew a few people in high school who got brand new cars. For instance, one chick in particular got a brand new 2000 mustang when she turned 16, wrecked it within 2 weeks and by then end of the month she was in a brand new 2000 mustang gt!!! WTF? Sorry, but when my little girl turns 16 she may end up getting my Tacoma, unless it's long-travel and supercharged by then, lol. Or, she may end up getting my wife's Rav4. I want her in something bigger for safety reasons, and god forbid she drives like her mom then she'll really need something bigger, ha! Wish I had a nicer and newer car in high school but I ended up with a 1988 Blazer. Looking back on it though, I loved that truck!

There was this one girl, her parent bought her an $80,000 black on black brand new range rover for her 16th birthday. They had it right in front of the student parking lot as she got out of class so everyone would see.. She didn't like it and forced her parents to take it back and get her an H3..

Talk about high maintenance.. Me too. What I don't understand is wouldn't you rather have a brand new car rather than a used one? The Range was brand new off the lot and she had them take it back and buy a used H3
