Let's see some trucks that really get worked! Description and pics of mine below. Share yours too!
I want to share my 96 Tacoma with all you 1st gen fans.. It was rolled in a highway crash before I bought it. I only paid $500 for it 10 years ago and it was actually pretty clean back then!
Mods: (most of these I did 10 years ago) 33" tires on DIY beadlocks, stock 3.4L, 5 speed, bobbed bed, Flushed rear bumper, bobbed front of frame + Mitsubishi EVO radiator, DIY snorkel, DIY front bumper and skid plate, Bilstein shocks, DIY spring-under rear suspension, etc.
Almost 200k on the truck. It had 197k when I bought it. I replaced eng and trans once recently. It has had the windshield replaced 4 times since I've had it. I busted the rear ring and pinion once (non-locking 8.4 rear welded). Busted front spider gears once. And I'd estimate about 20 broken CV axles over the time I've had it. And it goes everywhere! I have owned a lot of vehicles (I also own a used car dealership now) and this is still my favorite one!
*Fun fact - The frame is unbelievably rust free!

I am a video creator from way back - Just started a YouTube channel - WHIPBASH. This truck has become a popular part aspect of it. Here is a playlist of videos: And I will try to post pics below too...

That thing looks ripe! I'm building a second Gen Tacoma with a 5.7L Tundra V8 right now too! Build series is called TACUNDRA on YouTube. Also a thread on here for it. I don't know how to link it here though.

Looking at these older pics - I am reminded of how much I really do love this truck! I'm glad I decided to resurrect it. It had actually sat with a busted driveshaft for a couple years - The leafs were so twisted up from axle-wrap that it tossed the driveshaft off. Plus the engine was tapping after a high speed dive into about 3 foot deep water and the trans grinded during 2,3 and 4 shifts.
I actually bought an entire 96 4Runner that had been wrecked and swapped a whole bunch of parts into this truck to bring it back to life! Its truely a frankenstein zombie truck.

I'd rather see used and abused vs just neglected abuse. Like driving it til it breaks and not replacing parts as maintenance.

When the driveshaft came apart, I was down over this big hill on a tight trail and I managed to reverse up out of there in front wheel drive. That was when I parked it for a few years because I couldn't find the driveshaft (thats no joke) and the engine was already tapping and the trans was grinding during shift so bad that I could barely shift it anymore.
