I've been twice in January - and it was a blast. the contrast of the snow against the red is beautiful and there are zero crowds but you'll need good gear to stay warm at night. so long as you have all you need in that area and you'll have most of the trails to yourself.

My map of the city center. It's easy to get caught up in neighborhood names, but if you don't know what place is where, you don't know any better. Here's a map.

Sorry if the sweeping generalizations offend you, it's not going to go into detail.

Also, be prepared to be extremely confused.

Belmont, belle Meade, Hill Meade, Hillwood, wedgewood, woodmont, Woodlawn, kirkwood, lynwood.

Basically Nashville has a problem with naming things wood, wedge, Meade, more, and belle.

Depending on what side of Nashville you'll be commuting to...if it's the north side don't forget about Hendersonville, Gallatin, Whitehouse areas a little more Suburban but pretty nice too.

    Pretty accurate!

Yeah that map appears to be about 4-5 years old.

My wife grew up in Santa Barbara, went to undergrad in Boulder, then lived in Walnut Creek for a while before San Diego for 9 years. She moved to Nashville for school...and stayed for me. At least that's what I tell people. Her family is all still out there from San Diego up to San Francisco, so we're out there a few times a year.

Aren't you in sylvan Park? If so, that's in a "green" area lol

Yeah just realized that... I live like on the outskirts of sylvan by the red. I’ll be more than happy to accept to be in the safe zone.

Are you north or south of Charlotte?

What did I miss? I live in the area and constantly explore the city on my motorcycle. I definitely put sylvan Park in the green. Anything north of Charlotte ave is questionable, except sylvan heights which is pretty much nothing but million dollar condos and homes now (epic view of the city from the hills). And the nations tho I never can figure out exactly where that is, as I don't often go back there

Live by the nations in a apartment complex. Reason why I said I’m in the red. Nations is a nicer area now that’s its renovated and is pushing people out. Think this is where Dave is coming from I think.

Basically where you map is unmarked.

I agree with the rest of your map though.

Oh I see. I thought I put that in the orange cause I honestly wasn't sure. Maybe I marked the wrong spot. Not often I trek north of charlotte, unless going to La Juquilita.

So the nations are east of Briley Pkwy?

Honestly west Nashville south of 440 to 70S is extremely family/young professional orentatied. You still have some sketch areas due to a financial change in the past two years which hasn’t eliminated everyone out. However, definitely a place to “invest” as Charlotte is the next hip place to live as I was told by many realtors and investors.

It’s basically all of your orange zone to 40 is fine now. That’s the nations

Oh yeah, I agree. I would consider that a mix of big houses and normal middle class homes. Also some pretty sweet roads back there to drive/ride like Hillwood Blvd/knob road, just have to watch for deer.

I think the prices are already blowing up in sylvan Park.

Honestly look at renting a townhome. Same price of an apartment and more space. Unless amenities are necessity.

Yeah if you go well north of Madison, etc., it’s pretty nice on there. Really cool lake houses on Old Hickory too

Yeah we sold our condo in Sylvan Park and we were ready for a big yard and more space... our options to stay on the west side which we loved were tall skinny row houses with a 10x10ft “yard” and a bedroom looking into the neighbors pisser or a small fixer upper we’d be working on for years. Either wouldn’t have been a terrible investment but neither offered the space we wanted so after years of saying I wouldn’t move to the Burbs... to middle-class Brentwood we moved 2 years ago (not to be confused with Annandale/Governers club Brentwood). ;)

I miss Sylvan Park, being able to walk to good food and drinks, the greenway, and my 15 minute commute sometimes...

I agree. I now rent a townhome with a 2 car garage and a man cave. It's legit. If there is an opening I'll have to let @DylansBase know
