    2 Way. Very good masking tape and time masking it right. Use light coats on each spray. Use a razor as well and take your time removing the masking tape.

    the other way is to use something to heat up the plastic mounting tabs to break it off. Paint and then reheat the tabs back to secure the rings.

    Is it raining outside or the humidity high?

    Also try sanding it down, maybe use some adhesive promoter.
