Starting to 2nd guess droid X. Lots of problems. Text lagging or not loading. While making calls going through a companies menu, press 1 for this, press ? for that. The screen goes black & I can't press anything. Eventually it comes back with the call hung up.

Already have it and use it. Hasn't helped with my current issues. Taking my phone back to Verizon tommorrow. Maybe there is a setting to fix the text issue.

Advanced task killer does actually kill tasks, but it wont help your phones performance. The android phones keep tasks open in the background but they use no power until you start to use them again. they basically just sit in limbo until they are needed. i thought advanced task killer was improving my battery life but it didn't, i just was using my phone less and so it was naturally lasting longer. do a with and without test and you should not notice a difference

you could adjust your screen turn off time. menu > settings > display > screen timeout

i've got mine set to 1 minute rarely ever hit is, since i turn it off with the power button after i'm done checking whatever.

if it does turn off, you should be able to hit the power button to flip it back on without the call dropping

Just got my Droid X. If you get it at Best Buy, you pay 100 bucks less (don't have to wait for the rebate card). Plus, they have them in stock, unlike the two week wait the Verizon store told me... So far, it's been great. Battery is much better with ap killer. I've never had an iphone (refuse to give another dime to suck ass at@t), so can't really make that comparison, but it makes my blackberry feel like a dinosaur!

Was having issues with mine. Found out app killer was hosing it. Talked to someone at verizon & they said droid x doesn't need app killer. After uninstalling it my phone has worked flawless.

None of them need app killers. Android handles things a lot differently than windows mobile or bbos. The "running" apps you see are not actually running. They are sitting in memory in a dormant state in case you go back to them. android will boot them out of memory when it needs the space. they are not using clock cycles back there unless they are apps specifically designed to do things in the back ground. most the time if you are getting extra battery life with an app killer it is because you are killing apps like the social networking apps that do background syncs. you just need to go into them and set their background syncs to a reasonable interval. there are times as well that you are simply killing a bad app. these you just need to find them and delete the bad app. I struggled with not using the app killer in the beginning with my droid 1. I have had plenty of winmo and bbos phones in the past and these were necessary on those. I finally got over the need to micromanage my android device and have never had a problem since. I have well over 50 market apps installed.

Only complaint I've had with my X vs. my BB is the short battery life. Ap killer might have helped a little... tough to tell. I bought the upgraded battery from Verizon today. We'll see if that helps...

I think app killer was draining my battery. When i had it installed i was lucky to get 5hrs out of my battery. Since it was removed, i'm avg 9-10 hrs of battery.

When i first got my phone i found it is better to set it on never. I like to control when to dim the screen. I was having issues when calling an 800 number & going through the menu. My phone would dim& drop the call before i could make the menu choices.

does the extended bat fit flush or did you have to get a new bat cover that sticks out?

It does stick out, but just barely. I have a silicone cover, and you can't
    tell at all.
