I got the 120GB PS3 slim for $178, from Amazon.com barely used, in Nov 2010 (GT5 release). The original box was crushed to shit but the packing was good, everything looked brand new and all the cables/cords were still tied up from the factory. It's very quiet and gets warm during extended play, but no problems yet.

i had the ps3 60gig when it first launched and about a year ago the laser went out so it didnt read any disk that was inserted. i then bought the slim and i have to say the older models are far better (except for the size of the memory). So now i have 2 ps3's..a 160g slim and a 60g jailbroken ps3 with original firmware.

Lucky! I got the fat 80GB 2nd gen with only 2 usb port :( I wanted the 1st gen at first but it doesn't bother me now.

I agree with trying to fix your blu ray laser :) my fatty 2nd gen is still running strong..have had it for 2-3 years now.

    nothing yet!
I have an 80 GGB fatboy. Havent had any problems with it except for running out of room on the Hard Drive. So, I swapped out for a 500GB HD for 65 bucks. Thats one great thing about the Ps3 that I love.

On the other hand, I have gone through 5...yes 5 360's due to the RROD.

My 80gb got YPLOD. I still have it. I might fix it one day.

    I have a 320 Slim model now.

hey Janster, did you get one yet? There have been some crazy good deals on PS3's and 360's lately. some people are speculating that sony and microsoft will be releasing their newest console in the next year or so (i dont think there is any proof of this but i think the deals are just making people wonder). anyway, check out this website every day or so

    http://deals.woot.com/

you can just do a search for a PS3. people find good deals, then post the link on dealswoot. last week i saw 2 good deals, one was for a PS3 that came with a $50 Amazon gift card, the other came with a $50 Best Buy gift card. so you're paying full price, but if you're like me you use amazon alot, and can save $50 on your next purchase. looks like the deal has expired, but keep an eye out, i'm sure they'll run it again.

I dont think so. I bought a 160 GB from a friend about two years ago. Not even close to running out of memory. Great deal.
