Just watched last nights episode. I really liked that Toyota backup vehicle. Maybe they'll copy the UK version and try to kill it.

We should all get together and send them SHAME mail. They owe the Toyota some respect!! It would've spanked all those American trucks!

^ true that they should have shown how good the toyota dominated the trails. They should have known that the toyota would have dominated or it wouldnt have been a backup.:D

I actually like the last episode, even if it wasn't original. But wtf is with the Toyota back up truck. It would have done just as good as the others.

Yeah, I liked the show. 2 things however......They listed the Dodge as having a "5.7" engine, when in fact, it was the 5.9. Second....The only reason it overheated, was because it was leading the way blasting thru all the mud. Had they had the Chevy do the same thing, Im sure the result would have been the Chevy dying first. Regardless, the Toyotya was bad ass, and obviously didnt have an issue keeping up with the domestics.

I'm not commenting on Top Gear USA as an entertainment show, like a gd network formulaic sitcom. I have higher standards for the name 'Top Gear'. As a general automobile enthusiast, the original top gear was - and still is - peerless. As a driving enthusiast and automobile enthusiast, and student of the clever arts / humorist, the US version is lacking, overall. The only redeeming quality could be great car footage - which is expensive.

Anyone see the Toyota Hilux (aka Tacoma) on Top Gear traverse that volcano?? Pretty solid.

Well, enough people watched Top Gear: USA for the History Channel to pick it up for a second season. Read all about it here. I for one am happy that we'll get a second season.

It may be a good show in itself (haven't really watched it), but comparing it to the UK Top Gear is impossible. :stirthepot:

True, I have been watching a lot of the first UK top gear on netflix, both shows picked up steam as the season went along.
