I love the UK version, the US version last night was pretty terrible, the helicopter scenario was cool, but I completely agree with everyone else here, the hosts are terrible, the show is in need of some personality, it was just lame, I'll give it a few more weeks but I don't think the network will give it another season if they keep this up

I'll watch it...but I LOVE the original Top Gear and there is no way that the U.S. version will match it's greatness.

    Just finished watching.

When comparing it to the BBC show, it looks like a cheap, un-polished knockoff.

When watching it as the first episode of a new show and pretending that the original never happened, I thought it was pretty good. Lots of room for improvement, but not offensive or even bad.

I still think Tanner is a tool, but he was good on this show. Ferrara is funny all the time (especially when he screams "fuck" on every full throttle shift). The other guy is odd, but a good match.

The Helicopter skit was obviously staged and not near as good as the original (Lotus Elise, confined to the airfield), but fun.

I think with a few episodes and some practice, this could be one of the better auto shows in the States.

Yea I agree. We are all comparing it with the other top gear.

Its kinda like the newer Dukes of Hazzard movie, have to go into it without any knowledge of the original existing and it wasnt half bad...good point John. Like I said before, just seemed to "scripted" not like the UK one isn't. Chris, as long are you mention "murdered out" a few times, I think you'd fit right in... lol

I think that the scripted-ness (???) will become less obvious with some time.

By the slightly pudgy physique I'd say its Paul Tracy, and he's on "battle of the supercars" with Foust too.

EDIT: I just googled it and I am not the only one to come to this assumption
