Kind of OT, but I've seen her on a few SPEED shows too. Same with Lou (guy that was on muscle car)

More on topic, I think if TG US lasts the hosts will get a little more comfortable and funnier. The first season of TG UK (of the current format) wasnt very good. James wasnt even part of the first season.

Just watched it on DVR last night.

I hope (over time) they can relax and be funnier. Right now, they're too staged and 'acting' (so to speak).

It wasn't bad...but definately not the original.

Since the show is an obvious 'double' to the original (set, style, stuff they do), they really should have James, Richard, & Jeremy on the American show from time to time just to tie-them-together (so to speak). The original Top Gear crew might loosen these guys up a bit.....

I am changing my suggestion for the new cast and removing Danica Patrick (she would have to speak at some point and I cannot have that). I am replacing her with Kari Byron, not a race driver but far more tolerable.

    thank you.

I actually didn't get annoyed once in the new episode. The show is actually pretty good.

If I had never seen the original BBC TG then I would have thought this was a great show, but I'm spoiled so I can't help but think-this sucks!

The show seems defined by lame scripted pasty jokes. Where is the genuine life? Although I'm downplaying the show, I do give props to tanner's driving talent; he is good and probably the most realistic on the show.

episode 2 was much more appealing, seemed a little less scripted

I'm going to watch a few more episodes before passing final judgement

Where is the news? Thats the part of TGUK that doesnt really interest me because they normally talk about cars only released in europe. News on TGA would be a little better.

Being a devout BBC TG fan (and being spoiled by it, and having British heritage myself), I had issues with the pilot American version. Cardboard personalities. Seems to just poorly mimic what the Brits have done, and even the previews looked like virtual copies of what has already been done on BBC. Filling the car with water and driving with the snorkel? Jumping out of the car with bad brakes as it rolls backward down the hill? No originality there whatsoever. I expected at least an American take on it, not just mimicry without humor or chemistry.

I mean, at least, wouldn't an American Stig be fatter and have corporate logos all over his driving suit?

I feel like I couldn't have said it better. The line I bolded is exactly what I kept thinking as I was watching it.

Tanner is amazingly talented, but does not have the personality for this show. They should have kept Supercars Exposed around if they wanted to use him for this type of show. And Tanner has the better personality of the 3...

I agree episode 2 was much better than episode 1. I also agree that even episode 2 was not nearly as good as UK Top Gear.

However, USA Top Gear is still the best auto show in the US (mostly due to lack of competition in this segment) so I'll continue to DVR it.
