2012s hit the lots next week....xrunner should be gone within a month. I don't see a reason I should not be able to get out there this time around (and Ryan won't have to let me tag along like a 4 year old). Thanks again for that Ryan.

Anything on a "must have" list for basic trail riding? I'm not trying to get into half the stuff Colin was doing last time, but I would like to be able to keep up. I'm going to be getting a 4x4 offroad, can the stock truck handle the trails, or should I try to get XYZ installed before the meet?

Stock truck is good. I wouldn't be too worried. If you get stuck, someone has a strap.

It's always good to see what your truck will do in stock form. Then upgrade from there.

There where a few stock trucks out there last time and they kept up just fine.

Fair enough, the only thing I was considering was considering was maybe a skidplate (don't know how trustworthy the stock one is). However if I can get through the basic stuff and see what others can do (more importantly using what) I will save the upgrades until I know what I'm doing.

Now I just need the truck...:(

Edit: I know the weekend isn't set in stone yet, but you might want to consider the playoffs/Superbowl. Would hate to lose a bunch of people to "playoff parties".

stock skids should be fine i dont even have a skid plate skid so if you get an offroad addiction that has one you should be ok

95% of the time, extra weight from skids is just going to slow you down with it comes to florida terrain

one member on here has taken ocala in her 5 lug first gen. no lift, 2wd open diff, and street tires. i'm sure she was a little sore the next day from all the bouncing around, but the truck was perfectly fine.

Just got back from Toyota, put a deposit down on a 2012 off-road, should be here in 2 weeks. I drove a 2011 off-road for the heck of it and Ryan, I am still convinced the steering wheel on your truck and these new ones are smaller than mine...

I am going to be listing all of the stuff I took off the xrunner in the classified section, so if anyone is interested in that (tonneau cover, touchscreen dash) it will be there sometime tomorrow.

I am still on the fence about picking up an extended warranty? Do you think its worth it for a daily driven truck I plan to take in the woods here and there? Future mods are nothing too crazy; audio, coil overs, I'm not trying to climb rocks. Has anyone bought the extended warranty and absolutely regret the decision, or vice versa?

I would say you don't need the extended warranty. But that's just me.

The term "head unit" is used very loosely with this =). I don't know if I plan on selling the computer or the automotive power supply yet, but probably. Maybe as an "buy everything" or separately. Still need to price everything out...the new system isn't going to pay for itself.

Just a note. Check and make sure hunting season is done during that weekend because it can get busy up there. I've hunted small game there in the past and ran across several people out there. I'm a brand newbie here but i would try and make it when a date is set. I'm sure i will be ok with 2 wheel drive. Last time i was there for small game hunting i went through there in a Honda Odessy mini van lol :D

Awesome! Congrats on the new truck. I had a feeling we had you convinced you needed a new truck! can't wait to see the new one.
