Off the tee, and 50 yards from the pin are the two most important parts of the game.

Whenever I go to the driving range nowadays I mostly work with my wedges and drives. Knocking down a good swing technique for your wedges is key.

I've tried the phone apps & they do drain the battery. OPlus in the sun it is hard to see the screen. That is why I went with the Izzo & it works very well without a monthly fee.

Yeah. I'm with you. If I can get my short game working, I could shoot in the 80's consistently. I'm going to focus alot of my practice time this year to me short game.

250 sounds like a driver. Usually a 3wd has an avg distance of 208

My chipping is killing me right now. I'm very unconsistant. I could knock 12+ strokes off if I can figure out chipping from 40yards in.

I have been playing a lot out here in japan on deployment lately. been trying to get in around 2-4 rounds a week. And chipping is my biggest problem also. I am good till about 15yds and in. Even on the fringe i am terrible. I could easily take 10 strokes off my game if i could chip.

    My House Usually
Have played for more than 2/3's my existance now.

Younger days I was on the HS golf team and played in tournaments, then I had to get a job and golf was a back seat item.

As for clubs...I have junk clubs for the most part. Irons are some junk, not any kind of name brand. I would love to get a set of old DCI's, their like $100 (3-PW) down at the used sporting good store.

I do use an old Big Bertha Warbird driver. And Odyssey blade putter and a Ping Zing S.W. I would trade any of those 3 clubs for anything newer or fancier, not at all.

Don't play a whole ton, but typically get in around 85 or so and I'll take it. A little better than bogey golf.

Always seems like one or the other is on...I can either have a great day off the tee and struggle around the greens or I'll have a "bad" day off the tee and the short game will be on. Putting....comes and goes. Some days it's there and others it's not.

I am a huge fan of my sandwedge. I use nothing else to chip with, nothing. And when I'm "on" with that club, I can get on a roll. I tore my parents front yard up as a kid, hours out there chipping from our yard to the neighbors and back.

I mostly play the Apple Valley Golf Course, nice corse.

Have never had a hole in one, never. I've chipped in several times, but never a hole in one.

Deal caddy is like that & available all over the US & Canada. A deal is put out every couple of weeks. My referral code

Use the pull down at the top of the page to find deals in your city. If you do not see a deal at the moment. Best to signup & an email will be sent when a deal is offered. Usually you have 4 or 5 days to buy the deal. I have bought several. Usually the deal is $19-$24 for Golf cart, green fee, & range balls. Some of the deals even come with a free lunch. Usually you can purchase up to 4 of the deals & you have several months to use them. Read the fine print before purchasing. I have bought 15 rounds of golf over the last year with these deals. I just played last Saturday on a $20 deal, that I purchase 3 months ago.

Also for deals on tee times up to 70% off, in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Ireland, & Scottland. I use Golfnow
When you see a hot deal (has a flame by it) the deal is worth up to 80% off. But you have to purchase the hot deals the moment you click them. The other tee time deals you click it & pay a small processing fee around $3 & it will hold the tee time at that price, then you pay the golf course when you arrive. I have been using this site for over a year & have saved a ton of money. I never pay full retail for golf.

Also I sign up on the email lists at the golf courses I play. And can get deals that way. Some even give you a free round on your birthday.

played 9 holes this morning just to practice my short game and the hinge and hold works like a champ. Instantly improved my chipping around the green. Hopefully gonna get out and play in a day or two to keep things going.

Anyone ever have problems not feeling comfortable playing? Or like your back is real tense and you can just feel like your shots are going to be terrible?

I have felt like my back was tense when playing. It is tough to hit well when like that. Best remedy, pop a couple of beers & it will help relax you.

Never let your mind talk you into feeling like you are going to hit terrible shots, or you will. Always try & stay positive about your game & remember you are out there to have fun.
