I play the Titleist Z-blend. Went from the 690MB to these, with Hogan blades before that. I like them, my long iron game definitely improved. I like the combo sets, best of both worlds.

Has anyone else noticed they play better with cheap balls? I feel like when I play with ProV1's I slice hard on everything. I tried playing some noodle long and softs and they played way better.

I hover around 100 so I'm sure most of it is user error.

Noodle is a low spin ball. The ProV1 is a control ball which depends on more spin for maximum stability. That's part of the reason why you slice bad with expensive "control" balls. Lots of companies make a great long distance ball, only a few make ones that are easy to stick in a tight spot on the green consistently.

    Yes sir
I find that whenever I'm using a more expensive control ball I tend to try to do everything perfect because I don't want to lose the ball haha, if I find a control ball that is old and just send it relaxed I'll hit perfectly. I swear a lot of it is psychological haha

Well, I have a stash of something like 500+ golf balls of all types, so I never really care about losing them. I've never bought a single sleeve of balls in 3 years.

Hitting the same ball consistently can help you improve your game. Similar to learning to drive a sports car, you wouldn't want learn to drive a road course yet not be allowed to run the same car every time. That being said if you are having trouble getting any sort of control on the greens hitting the same ball isn't likely going to help you ;).

I really only have trouble with the slice on my drives. It sucks because I drove the fairway through 7, then switched to a ProV on 8 and it was terrible.

Part of that could be, and please don't take offense to this, that young golfers or guys just learning tend to develop a slice over 18 holes. If you are hitting the ball hard and enjoying wobbly pops your swing gets lazy and that leads to slicing and/or pushing the ball big time.

The ProV1 just exaggerates the slice. It doesn't create one.

I tend to hit a draw. I love the ProV1 and the new Nike ball because I can hit a predictable draw with my irons and driver. With a ball like the Noodle my draw is all over the place.

Yea I only really buy the used balls at like walmart that are $20 for like 30 balls that are practically perfect, or else I've used ebay which is also great for used balls that don't look used. I always hit well with those bals and the few sleeves I have bought I'm afraid of losing since they're so pricy so I'll slice em all the time... :D

Grew up on a golf course which helped me make my HS team. Never paid a dime for golf balls. Found thousands of balls over the years and hundreds of Pro V1s and other top notch balls.

If switched to playing ProV1x full time. I like them from the tee and then the approach as well. Doesn't help that I had my best round with them.

You're probably right. My swing is pretty terrible. I'm scared to change it though, because then I'll lose a lot of strokes and be set back for a while.

Be surprised how little of a swing adjustment can cure a slice...99% of slicers swing plane is from "outside-In", which imparts a right-to-left ball spin(for right-handers)....a simple swing change of flattening your backswing slightly, and swinging from the inside-out will cure a slice, and possibly induce a draw, depending on angle at impact.....I've taken many slicing golfers and corrected this in one lesson at the range...it does take a lot of practice to remove the old muscle memory swing....but when you finally straighten out that huge Banana ball, your scores /handicap, should improve....along with distance and accuracy...:D

Plus a mild draw is actually the most efficient way to hit the ball. I know when I hit straight my drives are just under 300 yards. When I get my draw going though I'm regularly the longest ball hitter in the area.

I've reduced my clubhead speed at impact from 110, to the 90's, and from stiff TP shafts, to regular flex which has helped me tremendously with controlling ball flight...and getting square at impact....lost some distance, but acccuracy has improved....
