Does anyone have some recommendations for decent clubs that won't necessarily break the bank? i got a buddy that's wants to go golfing more and I'd like to get back into it. I took a class years and years ago during my short stint in college but those clubs are long outdated(and were cheap anyways). I'm not sure that a full set is order but I definitely need the essentials(putter, sand wedge, a couple irons and a forgiving driver, cause I like to slice sh!t from the tee. lol).

I highly recommend Callaway Pre-Owned and buy a whole set. I buy from them often and I’ll provide a few links later today.
Do you want standard size, or are you well over 6’ tall?

Cool. I'll have to look into those. I'm 6' so standard would be fine. Some recommendations for the longer clubs would be nice though, as my son just turned 15 and he's already taller than I am. I would like to get him out for some practice with me once a driving range opens up.

Do your research, set a budget and try to stick with it. I prefer "good" quality or better and mostly stick with "very good" or " like new". You can always call them and get more detailed recommendations.

They are constantly running deals. Right now, putters are 40% off and their 25% off store wide sale, ended yesterday. Sign up on their email list.

Do your research and piece a set together and start with a putter today. You can't beat 40% off, on a quality Odyssey putter.

honestly I was trying to figure out what the "mini" meant also. I think it's just a slightly smaller head size but not positive

Do you know if they have free shipping on orders over a particular price? I'm not seeing anything on the site

Look for email specials on that. Shipping on single clubs is minimal and most ship same day.

I have this putter. I'm not sure how it differs from a regular 7S, but it's certainly not too small. I putted with it for about 4 rounds and went back to my Scotty Cameron Newport II. I just like blade-style putters better. My son wants the EXO putter.

Thanks for the feedback. I've really been wanting to try the mallet style to compare to the old blade I had before.

The good thing about Callaway pre-owned is the clubs are authentic, unlike some eBay deals out there and "very good" or "like new" are almost flawless.

For QUALITY new equipment at a very affordable price, look at the Maltby equipment on GolfWorks. You can get into some fantastic irons for 1/3 the price of name brand equipment. Read up on Ralph Maltby and why his designs make sense. I currently game the MMB-17 irons. I’ll likely purchase the TSW wedges to compliment.

If you’re worried about fitting, go to a professional, get your specs (actual length/lie/loft...not “+1/2” and 2 upright), call Golfworks, and they’ll build a set to the exact same specs.

Also, I’m a huge fan of my Guerin Tour Spec mallet putter. Amazing feel off of the face.

Tour Edge brand. They don't spend millions on ads or high priced Players endorsements. high quality clubs at a reasonable price. try out with favorite name brands and see no difference for the average Golfer. getting a low end set bag etc.or used clubs doesn't pay, you wind up upgrading. You can always sell the set if things don't work out. I have made these mistakes in the past.

My only advice is don’t buy irons that look like shovels behind the ball

    Ohh I miss golfing.

I have Ping G30 irons I got some years back, cobra 3 wood and driver. Been really wanting to get the Ping G30 driver too but they’re just so damn expensive

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I've been very happy with my Tour Edge clubs so far. They have full sets available at a few different price points. I was just getting back into golf last year after not playing for a handful of years and opted for the lower mid-range Bazooka 460 set at around $500 which includes everything from driver to putter plus a bag. Going from the ~$175 Sports Authority "Ram Golf" set I had from my young/broke days was like night and day. They are not quite on the same level as some of the bigger name brand clubs I have tried out at the golf stores but at 1/2 the price of an iron set alone they are perfect for someone like me that only plays ~20 rounds a year but wants something that hits well and gives me room for improvement.

I doubt you can find a better deal, than the specials they offer on Callaway pre-owned. I buy a lot of clubs for both me and my daughter and have zero regrets going with them.
Research and wait for the specials to happen, like the putter one today.

Not a damn thing wrong with Tour Edge. I gamed an XCG 7 Beta driver for a LONG time. Matter of fact, if the duck hook with my M1 doesn't go away soon, the XCG is going back in the bag.
