A pull up bar and some bands will get you through most of it. I like rogues monster bands. As far as dumbbells go... definitely get an adjustable set. I bought traditional dumbbells to save money and wound up spending more than I would have just biting the bullet on the front end.

+100 for the P90x. That is what I started on over the summer and it was fantastic. It honestly still makes up probably 4 days of my week on average. I will go up to the gym on other 2 days and take 1 off. It is a great workout and keeps you interested.

Beachbody on demand is a great deal. 100 bucks a year and you can stream all of their stuff.

    AMEN HALLELUJAH!
I’m glad this is being stated by the big dudes.
I hate doing too much with arms. Tricep exercises flair up my cubital tunnel in my elbows and heavy biceps fuck with my wrists.

I rarely pick up heavier than 20lb dumbbells for bi’s.

Plus I think most people who are slinging around heavy DBs for bis rarely have correct form. They don’t get the full ROM and are working more their anterior delts. Its very uncommon for me to see someone using 40lb dumbbells with perfect form.

Arms get worked just fine with the major multijoint movements. Not a whole lot additional is needed.

Nope. Tried it once to see what it would do for the extra wood and I was left with a migraine that felt like a hot knife behind my eyes and a boner that wouldn’t go away for 6 hours.. never again lol.

Thanks man! Best I can do with low levels of “assistance.” Competing days are long gone.

Precisely why I hit chest with biceps and back with tris. Most people have it the other more popular way around.

I’m also big on cardio for health and 420 for a great nights sleep lol. Drinking is the no-no for me but that has more to do with my liver issues from orals back in the day - drinking makes me feel horrible

Do you super set these or just have them in the same day?

Same day. I superset, but usually just for the muscle group I’m on at the very last exercise to maximize blood flow. Nothing fancy

I've been doing PPL for a while now. 6 days a week. PPL(heavy), PPL (hypertrophy) rest day, reverse.

I pretty much cannot drink at all anymore. I’m training quite a bit now and doing keto which is giving me like a zero tolerance.
My body is just not having it.

Well shit, guess I'm the odd one out lmao I do arms pretty heavy... Accessory biceps are at least 75lb-95lb hammer curls. Curl bar is 140ish+ for 10-12 with the last 2-3 reps being cheat curls. I will do lighter weight for Zotman curls or curl bar 21s for a nice pump but that's it. I do crazy heavy on tricep press downs, overhead extensions, and skull crushers. Of course I train for strongman which is very bicep and tricep heavy events, I am not bodybuilding over here.

Having said that I have huge/strong arms just from genetics. I have always been able to move the big weight and my arms have been between 20-22in even being my smallest at 200lbs to 305lb currently.

Right now I’m doing 3 days a week lifting. Mon, Weds, Friday. Monday and Friday and total upper body days and Weds is leg day.

I wonder if there isn’t a better way to split that up. Right now I’m running 4 days a week. When I get my TM set up for AM runs I can see how I can maybe go up to 4 days on the lifting.
Wondering how I can hit my whole body thouroughly in a week without going too nuts on legs since I can’t back legs up to either before or after long runs.

Anyone know of any good strategies?

I do upper body twice a week to hit those muscles frequently enough. I feel like if you split it up too much you don’t get frequent enough stimulation?

I don't have anything against going heavy on arms unless you're swinging around looking silly lol. Like I'll go relatively heavy on close grip bench sometimes. From my experience, I found that low weight + high (slow) reps give me the best arm pumps.
