I was recently bitten by a brown recluse, and I thought it was just a pimple on my neck or something. The next day it got bigger, and bigger. So after work, after my friend telling me to go to the doctor, I went to the urgent care next to my work. The doctor said it was a good thing I didn't wait to go to the doctor, which I almost did, because after three days, there is really nothing they could do. Anyway, he said it looked like the thing didn't inject enough venom to eat my skin away, like the big holes some people are left with after a bite. But it did inject into my lympf node, which had swollen into about quarter size and protruded from my neck, as well as the huge red mark on my neck which itched and scabbed over, after the medication (like anti-venom) I feel really lucky, and all I have now is a small scar on my neck.

And this one looks like a dock spider (aka fishing spider). Yes, they can catch small fish.

Every summer we get a big mama that suns her ugly damn @ss on the dock. She's easily as big as a deck of cards, and man, does she get wheels when she sees us coming...

    Cheers,
    Marc

Last week I woke up in the middle uf the night with bad shoulder pain. I couldn't even sleep it hurt so bad. I thought I pulled something while raking my yard earlier in the day. Turns out I got bit by a damn spider. I had a red circle on my back the size of a baseball. A few benadryls later all was well. I hate spiders, I will smash them if I see one.

The cat was looking under the bed the other night and acting all funny so I went to see what was up. I pulled the little thing that hangs down below the mattress to see what she was lookin at and when I did, a spider roughly the size of a nickel started running not two inches away from my hand.
I then proceeded to scream like a little girl and run away. I came back ready for battle with one of my wifes slippers, which I then used to grind the spider into the carpet until I couldn't see anything left.
After the deed was done I sat on the bed and watched the cat proceed slowly and cautiously toward where the spider was to investigate. I waited for her to get close to where what was left of the spider, then slowly reached down and poked her on the back gently. She jumped back so far she hit the wall and was all poofy. I felt bad afterward for scaring her but it was funny.

I don't like killing insects often unless it's a cockroach or something of the nature. BUT, my ex HATED spiders. We were walking out the front door to go out for the night when we came across a huge spider at the bottom of the steps. I blew it off and walked by (it's already outside anyhow) but she FREAKS and insist that I kill it or she wont be able to sleep or something to that effect. So I stomp it against my will and find out the real reason the thing was so freaking big. Prego. Baby spiders went EVERYWHERE out from under my foot. It was like a dust could of spiders. My EX literally screamed and ran. LOL I had to run and open the garage to grab some carb clean and take em out. She talked about that incident for a week afterwards. :)
