The ones you picked out are a good header. I do not want to take anything away from the Doug Thorley company, but their headers for the 2ND GEN are of subpar design. The problem (I think) is that they went strictly for a quick option over stock for when the 2nd gen came out. The problem lies in that it creates a really funny rasp at about 3-5k RPM, and there is about 5 more horsepower that could be squeezed out of a good set of headers from what I have seen. Reason that most people have them is because it is the cheapest and easiest option available for our trucks. XRunnit has been supposedly working on some with better, tighter (less rasp) design, but no word as of yet. Tony, the Doug Thorleys for your truck would do wonders for you I am sure. The beauty of the 3.4L is that you could strap on a Folgers can in place of your muffler and it would still sound great. Loud, but great. Thorleys are good affordable headers, they just had a couple design issues that (I think) they should have ironed out, but instead they just rushed into production. I am very tempted to just get some myself, and figure out every rasp issue imaginable all at once...

If you don't mind sharing the road with about a hundred Subarus....sure!

 

Maybe the group of us could strike fear into the hearts of the Subaru driving crazed soccer moms over here and not get run off the road (thats happened to me several times). But I can almost guarantee where ever we go we will be met by Subarus. But if you guys are up for a trip to the southwest, I've got lots of ideas!

 

Lots of mountain roads around here unfortunately most of them are dead ends to trailheads etc. I mentioned the Gravelly Range before too but I've never been up there myself so I'm not sure what we'd get into. And I know the Butte area well too. There's plenty of places to explore just got to tell me when!
