are you talking about the contrast in focus compared to the other flower pic that is reversed?

Check out the photography exposure triangle on Google, it'll give you a lot of good info on how to use all of the manual settings in conjunction.

It looks to me like you're doing about the same thing that I do. Take pics at the wrong time of day.

Less sky (unless epic clouds), more foreground. I try to avoid having the horizon in the middle of the frame when shooting landscapes.

Keep it up, I would be proud of those as is

I'd recommend a little less sky for some of them, more foreground for the 1st and 2nd specifically. Big mountains need a nice lead up, something that pulls you in more and more from the very first look. I definitely second trying to keep the horizon away from the very center of the composition. If you have striking clouds do more sky than ground, if you don't then do more ground than sky. Incorporate wildflowers in the foreground for pops of colour, or any interesting landmark like rocks, boulders, trees, etc. Try experimenting with different times of day. A little sunset or sunrise does wonders, golden hour for some stark shadows and warm glows. Rainy days are nice too, makes things look a little more intense. Other than that, awesome photos. You've seen some beautiful places by the looks of it.

I've gotten into a pretty bad lull following a few years of relapse in my mental health. Trying to get back into it but it's tough. The first is this year, second is last year. I should've used a smaller aperture for the second, the walkway isn't exactly in focus. I can't photograph people worth a damn but I'm pretty happy with my landscape/object photography. I picked up the first full frame DSLR Pentax released a couple years back and I'm constantly blown away by the quality. Pentax K1 with the HD D-FA 24-70mm f2.8

Enthusiast, a hoarder would have them all in a pile.

I was surprised when I got up there. It's about 11,500ft elevation.

Some great photos here. I found this thread a few days ago and have a long way to go to get through all of the pics. Figured I would throw in one I took last year while on vacation. Keep them coming :thumbsup:1307-2019-1050877297756028282264.jpg
