I've done a lot of photo work for Kelly-Moss, they are a 10 minute drive from my house. Good group! I pretty much documented that cars entire build process - it was fun to see come together.

I've been watching some webinars on Tuesdays that are put on by my friends at Muench Workshops. If you've wanted to get the basics of Lightroom Classic down (the CC version), there are three short videos that give you tips on workflow, basic edits and masking.

I've been using LR for a while but only recently switched to the CC version. Personally, I'm glad I switched. Less need to switch back and forth between LR and PS.

Anyway, webinars are free and they can be found on Muench Workshops website.

You'll notice they offer workshops as well. They're on the high side for workshop experiences but you definitely get what you pay for. Usually, they're all inclusive meaning you focus on making images. They definitely go to some cool places too. The disclaimer part is I've worked with Andy and David on dgrin.com and have known Marc jeez-for almost 14 years-good group and they definitely are a great group.

I've decided in my boredom that I'll be dressing up various images with a black border and stroke to pass the time. I've found it looks incredibly clean which I'm really enjoying.

Recently spent a week exploring Utah. I encountered some dramatic weather and ideal lighting situations. Also experimented with a night shot of Orion (shot w/ Nikon D810A where A=Astronomy) and the new Rigid red scene lights I installed on each side of the truck.

If anyone with an EF mount is looking for a 14mm f2.8 landscape/astro lens, I have one for sale! Bower 14mm f2.8, one of my favorite lenses I had but I splurged and bought a new 16-35mm for work. Asking $200 for it!

And of course, some actual photography related stuff...shot with the 14mm.

So, I have a Rebel T5 that I don't use as much as I'd like. Still kinda new to shooting. I have the 75-300mm and 18-55mm that came with the camera. The 18-55mm fell 22 stories, still works but one of the lenses inside is slightly crooked so it never focuses quite right so I might need something to replace that...

So far, I'm looking at a "nifty fifty" EF 50mm f/1.8 STM. Seems to be a good all around lens.
As far as a Macro, I've seen that 100mm is pretty standard but that 60mm is a pretty good "budget" option. Also not sure if there is a 100mm that will fit my camera (APS-C)? EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM
Then as another 'all around' lens, EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM

Any feedback, recommendations, don't/do get that's are appreciated.

What are you looking to shoot? Your selections are pretty much all over the map.

I mean nothing really in particular, just trying to have some options to get some practice in and maybe get some decent shots. Especially with the 18-55mm being damaged.
I like the idea of doing some macro stuff and the other two seemed to be decent for all around/lighter weight.
As much as I'd like to get a telephoto and go take pictures of the sun, I don't have that kind of money for a hobby I'm not very good at.

Just thought I'd bounce my ideas to see if those are any decent or if there's someone to stop me before I buy into something crap/useless to me.

A macro is a pretty specific lens. I'd ditch this thought until you really think you need it. Or rent one for a few days. 50 might be OK to walk around with, again, the focal length is limiting.

I'd look into the 24-105. There's an L version available too. Maybe also think about used. But it's a great lens and covers most anything you want to do when you figure you have that 75-300.

A macro lens makes an excellent portrait lens as well.

I agree with the above though that a zoom would be a better option if you want to have one lens for most scenarios. Also will second that you should buy used!

    A few more options:

Sigma 17-50 2.8 can be found used for ~$200. Canon also makes a similar version 17-55 2.8 which is more expensive. I have the Sigma 17-50 and it is a great value used lens.

Sigma 17-80 2.8-4.0 is also a well reviewed lens and is newer than the 17-50 mentioned above.
