I use a Tamron 18-270, and although if you had to only have one lens its a decent choice, the clarity sucks in comparison to better lenses. its just a cheap very useful lens. I was sick of switching lenses all the time. As I'm sure you guys know you pretty much always have the wrong lens on.

The ecuador trip was a trip of a lifetime!! was for a biology course, and had totally local guides and wasn't a normal package trip for tourists! What an experience.

Congrats!!! I'm kicking myself for not buying it the other day, they had it for $749 and a $30 discount and free overnight shipping!!! It was late so I said I'll buy it tomorrow morning, well... next day it was gone from the site only the OS version was available for $1.3K . The lens in Pentax mount (non-OS) is in most stores for $949 :(

Nice!, I'm going to have to start saving up for it. Hows the focusing speed, sharpness wide open etc etc? Usually these kind of lenses start loosing some sharpness wide open when reaching 200mm

BTW Solus Im loving the pic on post 3706

Focusing speed is pretty quick, there seems to be some softness at 200mm. I had a lot of pictures that didn't focus for shit. But I would say user error not the lens. But like I said, it was a tractor pull at the local fair at night, except for that picture^^ but it was poorly lit. I think a lot of it was because I was shaking so bad with it cause it is considerably heavier than what I am use to. It is crazy how heavy that thing is.
