I just picked up a Nikon D3100, can't wait to really get into photography as a hobby. Of the few shots I've taken around my house I really like this camera.

So if anyone's interested I have a 1st gen 3.4L S/C I'd be willing to trade for some canon equipment for my wife. She's been looking at a 7d or 35mm f1.4L, 24-70mm f2.8L, 85mm f1.8, 50mm f1.4. She has a photography business we started a couple years ago. Its starting to do pretty well and I'd like to get her some better equipment. Here's her website if anyones interested in looking.

thats quite a trade, i would ask for a 5DMkII and something better than a 35mm lens....

you better go check the price of that 35mm lens. that alone would be a fair trade for the S/C. I wasn't looking for all the exuipment in the post just throwing out some ideas of what she wanted. open to other stuff too. we don't have a good enough computer or lens selection to handle the 5dmk2 right now.

I know how much it is, nikon has the same one. just because its expensive doesnt mean its the best, especially for wedding photography (wich that what you look like you guys do, great site by the way.) theres better lenses. and honestly the 7D is a better camera anyways. the ONLY thing the 5DMkII has over the 7D is FF, if thats a non issue then in every aspect the 7D is a better camera.

35mm, 85mm, and 24-70mm are gold for weddings, which is the bulk of his wife's business...

i would rather a 24-70, or a 85mm 1.4G than a 35mm. especially for any type of portrait photography, but to each their own.
