I just got the same thing (as well as a 55-200 mm lens)

i love the camera, it is awesome. The 18-125 gets a whole lot more use

i actually posted one a few pages back of a pool table, that was done with a 60D

I saw that. I like the picture. I can't wait to play with it. We are going to Colorado this weekend so i will get some practice with it.

I was pissed off at UPS last night. I couldn't find anyway to have them just hold the camera at UPS instead of try to deliver it today. So now i have to wait for them to deliver it and then go pick it up (it requires a signature). I'm just like a kid on christmas morning, IMPATIENT. :D

Why are you getting rid of it ? I've been shopping around and trying to decide between Sigma, Tokina, and Nikon for an ultra-wide for my D7K.
Send me a price. Maybe it will make me choose...

Just replaced the old d100 with a slightly used (cant tell) d3100. Looking forward to taking some pics with it.

Today I had to cover some breaking news. A sinkhole opened up on a busy intersection here in the USF area, here are some of my photos.

Just got my d60. here is one of my pictures I took this morning. I cropped it because i'm still working on figuring out where to put my subject in the picture when taking it. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Well you did good separating the dog from the background, and placement is good. Dead centered photos are typically "boring" so to speak.

Rule of thirds are key. There are some really good guys on here you can get info from. What lens was this taken with?

If and when you can always shoot at the lowest ISO possible. I see the shutter was at about 1/250 so you have room to crank that ISO down to 200 or 100 for better quality.

well put. typically for the shutter speed you dont want to go lower than 1/focal length. so like @50mm you shouldnt go under 1/50s or atleast i have read that a few places. it just helps to keep the image sharp.

It was shot with an 18-135mm lens.

I am still playing with the settings and figuring out what settings to change and when. This was shot on an automatic mode so i didn't pick the ISO.

I cropped it so it he was in the left third of the pic. When i took the pic, it was almost centered and was portrait in orientation. Its amazing how detailed an 18 MP picture is.

Oh yeah the 60D is an awesome camera. Pretty impressed how much DOF you got at f/8. It takes a while to get use to but you're starting out good!

one thing i just noticed right now is that my 35mm f1.8g is wayy more sharp than my 18-55 when my 35 is at f2.2!
