yeah most lenses are sharpest when stopped down a little. My 18-55 and 55-250 are both sharpest at around f/8.

Also with that 35 being a prime it better be sharper!

My photo teacher said that all lens at their lowest stop aren't as sharp as they should be.

So I did these editing with a software that came with a macbook. Not the greatest(first time doing editing) but just wanted to see what some of you guys think, especially the ones who are great with photography on this thread/forum.

Lens is with the 18-55mm that came with my Canon Rebel Xs camera. What software do you guys recommend for beginners that wants to get into HDR photo editing? And also I will need "RAW" files for better editing, correct?

I got before and after pictures:

A lot depends on the lens but yes. It's sometimes the case that it sucks at both ends.

did you use iPhoto? I personally think they are over edited and overcooked. Personally I wouldn't get into HDR photos right away and I would focus on the basics of editing and taking photos.

I recommend getting Photoshop Elements and downloading the "Camera RAW" plugin from Adobe and shoot RAW.

Alex, I really like that photo too. I would have liked to see more of what was below you than as much of the sky but it's good  whats with the glowing green building??
