    I've been there for a while :cool:

    The thing about the 1.2 is that it's rock solid in low light. Not that the 1.4 isn't. I'm biased because I have one.

    There are a couple of 1.4 owners in the wedding forums that love them.

    rebels are good starter and hobbyist cameras. I love my xsi (that model is getting a little older,) now they have the T2i and such which ive heard good things about.

    I have been thinking about hitting OR. I rode the bike up the coast and stopped along the way but no photos to speak of--loved it. Maybe Crater Lake with snow?

    If you can, shoot Anza Borrego, Death Valley or even the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest.

    We got the America's Cup coming to San Francisco! YAH!

    does anyone ever use a battery grip? i felt one once but ive never extensively used one, some people hate them and some people say they cant shoot without it....

    I dunno. I prefer my 1Ds MkIII but gotta say my 5DMkII packs nicer. And if you are in the habit of taking two bodies, two MkIII's are difficult to put in many "camera" bags--that includes some of the big Crumpler's too.

    Back to the grip thing. One thing I like is the ability to use the shutter in vertical mode. I don't use a grip on my 5DMkII and I miss that shutter button.
