    oh okay...yeah i need one too i would get a vivitar 285 but i want one to use on camera also...i had found a sb600 for like 175 last week i should have scooped it up! :mad:

    it was really dark in the museum, I was shooting at ISO 1600 and tried using Spot metering

    You're on the right track. Were you using any sort of modifier? Like a soft box? You might want to try a ring flash (or the light modifier equiv).
