The knee pads are a great idea. My comments are exposure and white balance. Your composition looks good too--lower is often better shot too :D

I'm thinking about eventually upgrading to the D7000 instead of the D300s right now, just need to go plant that money tree...

the only things that would steer me to the D300s/D400 line would be the added speed and weather proofing

and i was just looking for the price diff, you would be better off saving for the D300s, the speed is better, and you also get the 51pt Focus pts.

I really want to wait for the D300s replacement...

I what I like about the D7000 is the ISO performance

D300s is a pro body, faster fps, bigger processor, 51pt a-f, built like a tank (although the d7000 is pretty beefy too)

IMO if youre jumping back and forth between D300s and D7000 just wait for the D400..

IMO youll be somewhat disappointed if you go with a d7000 becaus you will want the professional features; in the same token youll be bummed if you get a d300s because youll want the low light performance of of a d7000... just wait for a d400... were not that far off. this august at the latest. you have to give nikon the benefit of the doubt, their pro factories got demolished and then when they moved to taiwan, the tsunami flooded their first floor.... so just be patient...

ill put it this way. if nikon doesnt come out with SOMETHING (D4/x/s) before the summer olympics ill very surprised.

EDIT: i love my D700. i dont see myself upgrading any time soon. and if i do.. itll be a d3s <--- Still the top dog out of dslr's

I really hope the D800 isn't 36mp, because that would be stupid if you ask me

I'm thinking Nikon will announce the D4 and D400 in February with availability in March (I've read where they hope to have all of their manufacturing facilities in full operation by March) with the D800 coming in the Fall.

Nikon needs a new flagship camera for the Summer Games or Canon will walk all over them with the new 1Dx

Yeah for real. i dont think you would need 36 mp on a full frame. thats more medium format right? for large photos especially since the sensor probably isnt going to be getting much bigger.

The only time where you would need that kind of Megapixels is doing studio work.

The FX sensor is a fixed size (roughly the size of slide of film) with DX being slightly smaller

    (this isn't to scale)
