Haha but this way is very effictive.

I can see how a closer shot would be better, I did want the whole jump in the shot, could have been closer tho.

Haha, first time I been to those trails, cant tell from that pic but the landing to that jump was huge and super steep, close to around 15ft tall.. I threw a few tricks over it but non of the shots came out good.

That does look much better, thanks for the tip!

LOL so I sent some pictures to get printed at Walgreens, this morning I get a call that the order was cancelled due to that the pictures were taken by a professional and they need written authorization . So I call them and tell them you have authorization to print the photos that I sent to be printed because I took them and I'm flattered you consider them professional (as I laughed) but I'm not a professional (and not near being one) just a hobbyist. Still they want written authorization.... So I'm going to have to head down there later... there isn't any other place around here that I know of that prints pictures, it sucks that I may have this problem anytime I sent pictures to be printed, but it was funny.

I'm beginning to hate it around here, they also now just started prohibiting taking pictures from certain buildings, monuments etc etc unless you have a written permission, BUT if you are a tourist or using a point and shoot you don't need permission , I find that funny and stupid. I wouldn't be bothered if getting permission was easy but its a exhausting process waiting a long time in a government office plus you don't get to tell when you are going to take pictures, they will tell you eventually when they give you permission, when you can go. I wish they would promote safe and educational hobbies, instead of looking for ways to limit and restrict them, I guess they want us to be locked up at the house watching TV. :p /end rant

So printed an authorization form, get there and they tell me they canceleld the order, why the hell would they tell me to go with an authorization if they cancelled the order, is that hard to put a temporary hold???

I need to find an online place to print photos, I was recommended whcc.com has anyone used it? or Does anyone have a website recommendation?

A lot of places like Walgreens, Costco and others are refusing to print pictures without these disclaimers because they're being sued by photographers whose work is being printed at 1 hour places (think Walgreens and Weddings).

Banning or requiring permits (like in city parks) happens because cities don't want pros setting up shop in the parks--they're for everyone to enjoy. I'm not sure where you live but around here, the process is pretty easy and you shoot when you want to.
On private property though, entirely different matter. The property owner can say yes or no to photographers. Sometimes, the only reason a permit is required is to insure the city gets its cut :)

OBTW, you can print using SmugMug. There's a 14 day trial period that's fully functional. The best part about printing with them is if you don't like the print, send it back. No questions asked--they will take care of you.

Cool yeah I agree, but its like I told them if they require authorization, there is no need to cancel an order you could put a 24hr temporary hold until authorization is presented if not then cancel it. Other option is put a legal agreement before submitting the order online, where pretty much the user accepts he is the copyrights holder for the images and relieves the store from the responsibility.

The restriction of photograph they claim it to be for safety, yet a tourist can take pictures or anyone with a point and shoot, there has already been a few news articles around here of issues of people taking a picture and security making a scene. They have claim that if the pictures are for personal use you don't need permission, yet they have gone after people just for taking out a DSLR (hobbyist/amateurs). Government offices here are the worst, expect waiting hours and hours and when you get attended its not a surprise that the person who attends you , won't know what the hell you are talking about, or they'll tell you, you don't need permission yet when you go there security asks you to leave because of the camera. Its funny I can go to DC and take pictures of mostly everything yet here I can't take a picture of a statue of someone who most people don't know who he is. Lame.

As far as private property the law here says you can take pictures of private property as long as you took the picture from a public property (from a public road etc) but if what you are taking is a picture of someone at the private property then you can't, law here states that its illegal to take pictures of people in places where they expect privacy (their house, and even inside their car), unless you have a permit (press photographers), and yes from inside a private property you need permission of the owner.

Thanks I will try SmugMug what I'll do is divide the pictures and send them to different places to see which I like best, I think near the future I will invest in a photo printer something small just for 4x6 or 5x7

Take a few minutes to read through the SmugMug stuff. You'll find they have done quite a bit of research before choosing the printers they have. More often than not, if your stuff looks like crap in print, it's the photographers fault--but SmugMug doesn't care--if you don't like it, refund or they will reprint it (no charge).

Redbubble.com has amazing print quality. They tend to be a little darker than what I have, but the quality is unreal.
