    whoa DVD cam? hahaha...

ya know, i think that camera can only finalize to a DVD-R, not +R

although, it would be cheaper to record directly to DVD than to DV tape...

I think you're right but having been with Canon for so long, I'm sort of used to it.

I will say that I think the Nikon flash system is much easier to use. Especially with regard to groups and controlling them.

Agree I just give other camera brand shooters a hard time because that's the nature of photography :p

Anyone have a spare camera (Nikon or Cannon) that they'd let go for relatively cheap??

I really want to get into more photography. Just have a point and shoot Olympus right now, but I'm itching to get into better stuff.

Ballin' on a college budget here. :)

KEH.com has some killer deals. You can check it out. I know my photography teacher and one of my classmates purchased camera's from there. And got some killer deals.

They have bodies only or you can buy a body/lens outfit.

    Here's Canon's link:
    http://www.keh.com/Camera/format-Di...-Outfits?s=1&bcode=DC&ccode=1&cc=80166&r=WG&f

    Here's Nikon's Link:

I'd look at one in the budget range you can afford and then do some more research about that specific camera and make sure it will be good for you, I'd suggest trying to physically look at the camera if possible too at a local Best Buy, or photo store.

Awesome, thanks guys. I will take a look at those websites. What I really am taking pictures of is fish and outdoor stuff. I am living in Montana right so there is a lot of scenery. :)

It was blowing easily 30 mph today. My buddy and I tried to go fishing, but we bailed out.. Got one picture at the access. Nothing special but you can kind of see the crazy storm rolling in.

I guess it depends what you want from video. But if you check out a lot of the new mtb videos, a LOT of them are shot on 5DMKII or similar. There's a learning curve for sure and it's not the best setup for video but it works really well.

Heck, look at the average Discovery Channel show--it's shot on small ENG like cameras and GoPro's.

Honestly if you wanna shot DSLR video, Canon is the better choice with the 5D2

Also the first generation D7000 had plenty of issues with oil getting on the sensor.

definitely need to consider what you plan to do with the video aspect... if for personal use and convenience, DSLR is a great option... if you can swing the cash, keep the d90 as a backup and get a DSLR and build it up for video...

with the DSLR rigs that are out there, it's a pain to break down a DSLR to switch from video to camera, unless you just want to do your video run and gun...
