    Are you using Speedlights? If so, have a look at Syl Arena's new book on the Canon flash system. There are some hints on lighting. Another good source for lighting info is strobist.blogspot.com--David Hobby is an awesome source of info.

    Joe McNally has several books about lighting too. He's done stuff where he's mixed a bunch of Nikon flash units with studio lights too (cover of Nat Geo, a pic of a telescope).

    I've taken classes from both Joe and Syl and I can say both have a great eye for lighting. So does David Hobby.
