I still don't understand why people freak out about their license plates.

I can go outside right now and take down 1,000 license plates if I wanted to. Then rape all of their dogs.

You should be more worried about tow truck operators having access to license plate databases. They scan parking lots looking for vehicles eligible for towing. Who knows what they do with the data they gather? Sell it? Probably. Next thing, you're on some list someplace to receive even more targeted junk mail.

ive never had a problem with it.

but i was shooting my buddies 69 impala and he wanted the plate blurred out, but it was the classic california black/yellow plate, so what i did was erase two of the letters so you could still get that old school feel

I don't mind on my vehicles, doesn't bother me, but other peoples I'll blur them out if they request it.

It just doesn't make sense is all. Anybody can see it any time you drive, and there's thousands of shady people out there. :p

I don't think its crazy at all, most people on here post pictures of their stereo setups etc etc, and there are members from all over the country, its not that someone is going to go out looking for your particular truck, but if by any chance they end up in your build thread or something like that and say hey I think I've seen that truck around, they could confirm it with the plates. Now they know exactly what you have and how much worth is it (talking about things that are not easily visible, like subs behinds seats etc, things they would not spot by looking through the window or the truck itself), I don't think the odds of that would be really that low, even if there are, there is still a chance, there is a very small chance of winning the lottery, yet people still win, just look at the thread where everyone post pictures of other members they have spotted, its frequent. If it only takes a few seconds to erase the plate then why not...

Well I agree on that it is not a big deal, in the sense that it is something to freak out about or be obsessive, but for the small chance of something that could happen, a few seconds to erase the plates, is not a big deal either, does it really matter to you that the plate is not visible in someone else picture?

My point is that thieves are opportunists, not erasing the plates could lead to an opportunity to present itself, whether the chance of it happening is big or small, really doesn't matter to me, as it still exists.
