easy on the vignette. dont rely too much on thems.
try using rule of thirds. in most of your pics, the subject/s are smack dab in the middle.
how about some shots that are up close and personal? everything that has been shown are full body shots, the same, and seem posed. all of your subjects are facing forward. why not some candids?

technically, everything else is good(exposure, post processing).

crits, you asked for them. I gave them, just saying ;)

edit: different perspectives would break up this set.

Agreed. I wouldn't mind having the high res version as my BG on my computer.

Compositionally, I think you've done well. The graffiti is very cool-more in the background would be nice. Exposure wise, everything's good. While I'd also suggest the rule of thirds, that's a guideline and where you've broken it here, I think works. I like the depth of field in "Izzy & Evan".

Where I believe you could improve is by using some fill flash. Even gel'd back grounds. Primarily the fill flash to emphasize your subjects. Knock the ambient down a 1/2 stop and go to town.

Lighting is the biggest problem I see. The next is processing. I think the technique you're using takes a lot away from the sharpness of Evan. With the DOF these have, you almost don't need too much in the way of processing. If I was was going to suggest anything it would be to mask Evan, boost the contrast a bit then sharpen. Invert the mask and lower the levels just a tiny bit.

    i don't critique...

    good shots though Jake...

is that a private warehouse? if you can do more work in that space with permission, there is a whole gamut of concepts you could come up with in there...

I think the available light for these shots spell out the mood, but it wouldnt hurt to have one or two speedlights on hand, remotely. Although, the shots posted did not need anymore lighting imo

I'm pretty noob status when it comes to post, so I have nothing to say regarding that.

Some think flash would be too much but the trick is creating a scene that's lit but not one that's glow-in-the-dark-nuked looking. With the right lighting, a scene can look natural. Of course, you might choose the look of a bare light as well.
