Messing around with some flowers I bought my wife last night. I used 2 ext. flashes for this shot, and shot it outside on my grill. LOL

    Congrats, Fear.

Hey guys, do you ever take your cameras to certain events and get turned away at the door because our cameras have "zoom lens"??

Im going to a PBR event and I want to take my camera but the last thing I want is to be turned away and have to go put my camera back in the car.

Alright so I've got some questions for you guys. How many of you watermark your photos for sites like Facebook/flickr/500px etc? If you do watermark how do you do yours?

I've been playing around with designs and every time I put it on an image (through Lightroom or Photoshop) it looks like crap, very low quality compared to the image. So if you do watermark your photos some advice on keeping it's quality on par with the image would be great.

    I does!

I just use my name. I create a type layer in PS, made it an action so I dont have to do it every time(Thanks Wes!), and thats my water mark. I havent designed anything because I dont have enough knowhow to do it and I like the simplicity of just my name.

I dunno if it would work but mabye try and create it in a new drawing and see if you can save it with a high quality? Im not really sure

Well what I've been trying to use is text in a PNG file. That way the background is transparent. But when I put it on my images in either Photoshop or Lightroom it downgrades in quality BUT if I just type on a photo in Photoshop it comes out great. I don't want to have to keep redoing it in Photoshop for that matter have to open all the images in Photoshop from Lightroom.

    Bahhhh! I'm so confused... :(

    Thanks dude

Some venues have restriction lengths of the lens themselves (most are like 12" in length)
I use LR and when I export my images, it puts the watermark on for me

Jake, watch this video on how to make an action, and this should solve your problem of having to go in and do it every single time!

I think I figured out my problem with the PNG files though. I created my watermark on one of my actual photos to my liking then dragged the text files over to a blank hi res PSD file, cropped, and saved as PNG. Seems to look a lot better to me. The last ones were very pixelated but these look pretty sharp.

Let me know what you guys think. I made a couple different variants for different style photos.

These photos are Hi Res just to get opinions on the watermark. They will be taken down in a couple days. I'm gonna start putting low-medium res on flickr to help prevent them from being stolen.

idk whether the overcast sky was a blessing or curse. The crowds are definitely a curse. You get people who, for what ever reason, stop right in front of the lens-I could do without that ;)
