if anyone in L.A. is a photography student in need of internship hours, i may need some help on a couple commercial/catalog gigs for school credits...

it's relatively easy work... just need more help with carrying and setting up gear as my health issues are catching up to me...

So, after my recent system build and tiring of my "small" PC monitor, I finally decided to upgrade to a better display. While I didn't break the bank on an Eizo or NEC (ended up getting a 24" dell IPS display as a main monitor and kept my aging IPS as a second monitor), it DID throw me into the realm of researching and learning more about monitor specs than I ever knew before.

Out of curiosity, what displays are you using on your editing machine and why? If you're calibrating (and you should be ;) ), how close was the factory calibration? And finally, what do you tell the wife when she doesn't understand why something so "simple" as a monitor for a workstation can cost more than L series glass? lol

you tell her you want a divorce...

    kidding...

    :D:D:D

i was a photographer when my wife met me, so she knew what came with the territory...

i have been fortunate that she can handle my expense list...

of course, as my invoices come in, i essentially just endorse the checks, she deposits, and gives me my allowance for my RC cars and my tacoma...

colin - learn how to pose your subjects. that said, I do not have the skills to pose people to make them look their best. I usually do candid. the set with the blonde chick, the exposure is all over the place

Nice work Colin. Watch you're horizon because in the B&W of your wife(I do think it's your wife..) the horizon looks a little crooked. Otherwise I liked the rest, good lighting, good poses IMO. Job well done!

Have to shoot 2-3 rolls of film tomorrow! Get back in the film age lol. Will probably do some digital as well so I'll post up what I get.
