    Just the basics
    Canon 24-70L. Tripod. No flash. Mirror Up. Cable release. Manual focus for most of them. I don't have a dedicated macro lens for my SLR, yet. I love doing macro with my G9 when out and about.

    I did a whole bunch and I don't recall taking it off f2.8.

    I went with the D5100 :anonymous: The Costco bundle was too good a deal to pass up (18-55 & 55-300 lenses, case, 16gb card, 90-day return).

    Once I get the hang of it, I will post some pics on here for review, critiquing etc.

    Thanks for your feedback Tony. In the end, the slightly better picture options won over the video options. Plus, I want to get a GoPro HD2 for most video purposes, which is way more versatile than a giant camera.
