I just came across a guy who calls himself a "professional photographer".

Dude shoots with a T2i, and has the following lenses (copied and pasted from him....he doesn't even know the proper focal length of the 18-55 kit lens  ) :
    Canon 18-55 f5.4
    Canon f1.8 50mm
    Canon 55-250 f4.0

Then he goes on to complain about how he doesn't have a FF camera, and that he'll get amazing results with those lenses on a FF camera. NEWSFLASH EF-S lenses don't work on Canon's FF cameras guy. What a joke.

Sorry, I was laughing too hard as I typed that. But yes, the maximum aperture. :D

I mean, the guy is cool, but calling himself a "professional" and not even knowing his shit lenses don't work on a FF camera....

The 50 would work. Thats the only one. But i agree with you, most everyone should know that...

    What does he normally shoot?

That 50 is a pretty good lens (so's the 85) for the price.

Yes it is. I prefer the 1.4 because it feels better made. There is pretty bad vignetting though.

I think i want a 35mm though. 50 was just too long of a focal length for walking around in my opinion.

I'm not really sure, I just know he has a "business". The only stuff I've seen from him are over processed car pictures.

People using a $100 lens of FF, especially a "professional"....

That's like driving around in a Ferrari on $200 Wal Mart tires.

Casual shooting, yeah, it's great for it's value. :D

    50 f/1.4 FTMFW. I miss that lens. :(

It's good on a FF to walk around with, but I'd go 35 for walking around with a crop sensor too.

Ah well. He will be trying out new things. Just trying to make a name for himself.

Its a nice lens. I can definitely see it on a FF but as you say 35 seems better for me at least on a crop

I prefer walking with a 16-35 and a 70-200 in the bag. The 24-105 is another good walkabout lens.

The problem isn't the equipment a professional uses. It's understanding the limitations. That annoying Asian guy has done a couple of YouTube videos where he gives a working pro a shitty camera and challenges them to get good pictures. They do manage to get some cool stuff.

You definitely want to use the best quality glass you can but don't count the cheap stuff out.

My main point is, you shouldn't call yourself a "professional" when you don't even know what you're talking about.

I walk around with a 24-105 on my 60D. It works pretty good, but I'd like something a little wider. :)

Luckily I now have access to TONS of Canon (L series primes, telephotos, macros FUCK YES) equipment for free at my school. :woot:
