The Canon Loyalty Program allows you to trade a Canon camera for something else. Call them at 1 (866) 443-8002. Option 2.

Please keep in mind they don't always have everything and you might have to call a few times to find what you want. And if you don't send the trade in to them within the window, you could end up paying full price for the refurb.

As far as quality goes, I'd say that every refurb is as good or better than a factory unit-afterall, it's been re-manufactured ;)

Of the three, the second is the strongest image. It offers an interesting foreground and leads the eye into the frame.

In the first, you generally do not shoot directly into the sun. It causes the rest of the image to be dark, like this is. If you have a camera that has blades that control aperture, setting the aperture to f/22 will give you a really nice sun star if you hide the sun behind it (or in this case, as the sun just starts to peek over the top of the range). Framing wise, I might pan left a little so the sun isn't so centered and maybe add a stop or so of exposure compensation.

The third would be better if someone were holding the fish.

Quick question....anyone know if the pic quality off an iPhone is decent enough to print a 5x7?

I've printed one to a 4x6 before and the noise got to be fairly significant. If marginal quality is acceptable for your purposes, you might be able to make it work. As cheap as you can print small photos these day, splurge for the dollar or two it costs and if it goes toes-up, at least you'll have a definitive answer...

I am no photographer. I really like good pictures and feel that if you can make a lasting impression of how you felt at that moment, than you win. My pictures are generally for myself and I love to hear comments.
I liked the photos from which these comments were directed to, but I almost pissed my pants when I read the last comment about holding the fish.

Take the number of pixels of each side of the photo (the image properties should tell you its ???? x ???? pixels) and divide it by 300 for a print-quality image.

This will give you the dimensions in inches you can print it at decent quality. Printing any lower resolution will cause pixelation in the print.

In your case you'd want the shot to be in the neighbourhood of 1500 x 2100 pixels.

I think that's the part that makes photography so cool. You can have pictures that trigger memories or emotion when ever you look at them.

Looks like a fun meet. We have the summer hot rods at one of the shopping centers. Even had some big rigs come by-crazy sound systems in them.

Fun to check out other people's stuff.
