The *Official Photography Thread*

Start with a setting of ISO 200, f4 and bulb exposure. You'll need a tripod and remote cable too It takes between 10-20 seconds to see movement (that'd be "blurry" to most people), around 25 minutes and you start to see some nice trails and between 45-60 minutes you'll usually get very nice circular trails.

Of course, exposure time is dependent on light in the scene. Speaking of scenes, star trails usually look best if you compose a shot with someone like a Joshua tree or something else recognizable in the scene--make sure the camera is level before you start

i know i know but these are the only 2 choices i have for the money i have at the place i have the credit......if that makes any sense
they are
$220 apart in price......with the 70-300 the more money $$$ one

 

Alright, I've been taking some, learning photography again, but haven't had a lot of time to post, so here a few real quick. To the pros they are nothing great, but remember I'm still re-learning:



I know some are over exposed, others under, some slightly blurred. Others probably look like crap to others, but I liked them (particularly the ones with the sunset in the background and the foreground blackened). I'm working on it, still figuring aperture and ISO combinations, what works. So please give me any input, but be gentle.

Side note, I think some of these could have been slightly better with a little editing and cropping, but haven't had time to do any of that either; plus I want to remember how to take pictures before relying on photoshop to make them good.

Thanks, 12 was my fav! After that 7; I wasn't sure about 8 and 9, I like them, but from a pros point of view I am sure they are crap.

I like #1.

 

I like Leaving and Letter the best because of the emotion portrayed in both. Leaving would be even stronger if she was not looking into the camera.

not bad, the first too are a little too "HDR" for me.
3, 5 and 6 are awesome

the last one im not too stoked on how the fingers/knees are cut off but some great ones either way!
