^^^ offset your subjects every once in a while. Every one of your subjects are centered. But not bad for beginning!

I agree, Del! Also like the first lake photo with the dock, and the female looking out the window.

    Thanks everyone!

I spend some time on JetCareers and post a lot of my flying photos over there. That photo is also on my FB page.

Nice shots of the 'vette! Those are sharp & clean looking!

5100, although I'm going to write up some of my other options and ask for yalls advice here when I get some time. I won't clog this thread, but start my own.

Most practical for me seems the 5100 route though. Can't do much anymore with my bad back/hands and have always wanted to get into photography so I'm treating myself :)

I started out with a D3100 and shot everything with that camera including College level sports

The D5100 is a great starter camera

Yeah man, I've done plenty of research and for my needs it is MORE than enough. I'm just thinking down the road. I'd like to buy once and be good for several years so I may consider a few others. But I'm 90% sure it'll be the 5100. I don't shoot much video and the speed is plenty for me as I like things that aren't moving the most :p haha BUT who know's what I'll like when I finally get more into all of this.

That new 5200 isn't worth the extra $300 for the few performance upgrades but I want!!!

The good news is bodies are cheap compared to glass. The advice I usually give is two things. It doesn't matter which body you buy today. They're all good (yes, some are better). Second, decide which lens system you want to get and buy that body.

There's a last bit of advice and that is buy the best gear you can. Even if it means waiting a little longer to get it. The reason I say this is that buying stuff two or three times is expensive and time consuming.
