That Nikon 24-70 is a great lens. Owned one.

That doesn't look like San Diego Bro....and I don't see a Panda anywhere nearby.

You should look for a Bacon/Maple donut tho.

Got a few pics of my wife while she was pregnant on Saturday. This is the only one I really liked. What do you think? I hope you like it because I can't take any more since she had our son on Monday.

Thanks! Can't wait to have a dslr to really tweak the settings better and have control over shutter speed and such.

But still turned out pretty cool haha

Blackdawg, have you looked into CHDK to hack your camera?

edit: NVM I see you're using a Nikon, as far as I know the CHDK is only for Canon so far

For any others interested these are a few pics i took with my canon SD800is

If you get a Canon point and shoot you can do a CHDK hack (kind of like a jailbreak for your point and shoot) and you can upload other firmware on the camera to give you more function.

There are a lot of added features that you can get, I did it for the ability to keep the shutter open at whatever time I wanted to keep it open for and for the ability to save a RAW file format (when doing post editing RAW files are much better to work with). I think on some models you can even install games on the camera haha

Check out the link below, it will give you more information.

    http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK

If you are getting a canon DSLR there is no need to worry about CHDK as you will already have all the functionality and features you will most likely need.

I've looked into the Magic Lanten but it seems to be more videocentric. I don't shoot video at all with my DSLR but if it's something you plan on doing then i'd say give it a shot, i've heard very good things about it.

What DSLR do you have/are looking at getting?
