I'm trying to build a new computer and in my searching I have found that an IPS LCD display is what you are looking for not the normal TFT LCD that everyone has. The Apple monitor is more than likely an IPS but i did not see any info on it.

I know its a bit much on the HDR. Tamron lens used again. Faster shutter. How's that? Any sharper?

Are you resizing to 1024 or smaller on the long side before uploading to the web? If you don't your images will be noticably softer than they look on your computer.

The way I do it is to open them in photoshop, go to image size, reduce the long end to 1000 pixels and select Bicubic Sharper from the bottom drop down menu. Then I just save a copy to my desktop to download before deleting that copy from the desktop. Seems to be working pretty well.

    Slightly, but not too bad.

Did you use a remote shutter?

well the shutter speed was 1/200 so tripod shouldn't be necessary. It actually looks pretty good for straight out of the camera.

Alright. So.....I got a couple of questions:

Which parts are soft? Could you circle them so I can see what your saying?

What do I need to watch for in an image to be soft?

And what are some ways that I can fix this error?

    That would help a ton!

Well to me it looks like you focused on the tire right? Because that actually is pretty sharp. do you have it set to the center focus point only? It is the most sensitive one on your xs and will be more accurate. Also make sure the focusing mode is in "one shot" for these stationary shots. f/8 seems to be the sharpest point on my 55-250 so definitely make sure you're stopped down a little.

Also maybe post a 100% crop of the spot you focused on, that makes it easier to see the sharpness.

I think its set on....uh...the focus where it focuses on the items based on the picture. So should I set it to where the center is always the focal point?

And I have mine set on continuous? Would it be a good idea to set it in one shot for those type of pictures?

well the center focus point is a cross type so it is more accurate than the rest. What I do is set it up to center point only, point the center point at what I want to focus on, focus then recompose without moving forward or back.

And AI servo or continuous is good for fast moving sports but it is less accurate so whenever possible, use one shot.

Remember, Im just a noob so hopefully someone else can chime in as well:eek:
